Just a random note to say how damn excited I am for Round 1.

Go to Melbourne on the Wednesday to see The Boss in the small general admission pit at the front of the stage.
Go to Carlton/Richmond on the Thursday to see the MCG's opening game of the year.
See Springsteen again on Saturday under the stars.
Melbourne/Port at the G on Sunday.

Yeehaw.

Nice setup Bern!

Although I could probably take or leave (or just leave) Carlton v Richmond.....

:p

It'll be the mrs' first game at the MCG. Mine was last year and it was Hawthorn vs Geelong. Now that's atmosphere. And that was the best game I've ever seen. I wanted to name my firstborn Tomahawk after that.

Then she'll get to see us at the MCG against Melbourne. Should I buy tickets now, or risk it selling out? :P

There is no real way to prove was a better keeper heals or Gilly in a matter of fact if you use stats Gilly is in front but they are meaningless...

If you think heals is a better keeper that's fine can't argue with but...to say Gilly was an ordinary ok keeper but his batting was what made him great is just plain wrong

He had hard hands BMT. You could hear the ball slam into the gloves regularly. Glovemen like Healy, Seccombe and Manou had hands of velvet in comparison.

I will admit as Gilly's career went on, he definitely improved. He's still in my best side of all time, its just his actual keeping was inferior to some around the country.

Maybe he needed mabiline on his hands..the sound of his. ..

Cmon man I won't argue that heals was better keeper because is believe that I can respect that because heals was a damn fine keeper but to say Gilly was ordinary keeper is just wrong

Only the ones working as actual accountants?
That seems reasonable, but I dunno...maybe something in their personalities attracts them to the job.

Its tiring to keep hearing comments like "...I'm always doing other people's work, and someone always has to clean up afterwards."

Without making a comment like "Cleaning up afterwards is your job, its the whole ****ing thing."

Ford Fairlane and RussellEbertHandball are going to cream their jocks....

Spare room for rent near venue $2500 per night....

Even better Tom Morello is on board for the tour. Can't wait for Born To Run to turn into Bulls On Parade.

Good thing I have my room stitched up then. Now just gotta remember my frontier touring co. password to get a ticket in their presale. Bloody Gudinski knew he could have done and filled 3 or 4 stadium shows, but had to slowly drag it and book him for indoor venues and guarantee sales.

My first two Port v Brisbane games at the Gabba (1997 and 1998) were draws, what are the odds of that?

At the end of 1999 there had been 126 draws in the 11,727 games played according to Kevin Taylor's - Foot stats 2000 edition. In 1999 1 draw was played in 185 games played in the 1999 season. So it roughly is

125/11,650 x 125/11,650 ~ 1/10,000.

Maths science students may want to correct me.

It was a good question. My first guess was 1 in 10million, then it bugged me for the next half hour that that was way too high. ;)
