Oh yes, my mighty heart is breaking over some guy I don't care about not winning an award I also don't care about.

Bad one liners and explosions sounds like your type of terrible movie.

It's beyond that. It was a refreshingly small action movie. It wasn't about the end of the world, or terrorist's holding someone important hostage, or anything catastrophic.

A drug dealer wanted to cross the border to Mexico, he has to get through Arnie's town, Arnie says no. A ridiculously unimportant event. That's what made it more fun. It wasn't overblown.

None of these bullshit quick cuts or shake-cam where you're forced to believe action is happening because your eyes are having fits trying to figure out what's going on, just beautiful cinematography from one of the best in the business at it.

It was slick and stylish, it had memorable action sequences, and Arnie settled into his role as the washed-up action hero. This is his close-to-retirement Murtaugh era. He no longer has to look intimidating with a mountainess physique, or even be overly cool with punbeliveable one liners. He still has the one liners, they've just shifted now - now he's the dorky one. He's old. It doesn't try to hide that ala Sylvester Stallone. The movie wasn't even really based around him. The action sequences involved various characters throughout the film. The story wasn't just progressed through interactions with him.

The only way I can see someone not having a good time watching it is if they're going in with the preconception of "this is gonna be so bad" and then sitting there looking for everything bad about it. Which if I guess you wanna waste your money on that, more power to ya.

Best pure, no-nonsense action movie I've seen in a long time. Made me believe in action again - not everything has to be this big budget overblown nonsense that Michael Bay has turned Hollywood into. Nor does it have to be direct to video Steven Seagal, I'm just a name so I'll hide in doorways and shoot a gun around the corner-style.

It's anything but a terrible movie.
