It was actually the 4th hottest summer on record this year in South Australia

http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/current/season/sa/summary.shtml

Temperature

Temperatures across South Australia were widely above average during summer. Averaged across the State as whole, the summer daily average temperature for South Australia was 1.5 °C warmer than the long term summer average, the fourth warmest on record and the highest since the summer of 2005/2006. By comparison, summer 2011/2012 was just 0.1 °C warmer than average.
Maximum

Maximum temperatures were well above across most of South Australia as a whole during the summer period. A prolonged heatwave event from late December and the first 3 weeks of January when temperatures were 4 °C or more warmer than average for a prolonged period, contributed strongly to the warmer than average summer days. For the state as a whole, summer daytime temperatures were the second hottest on record after summer 2000/01, with daytime temperatures 2.1 °C above normal for summer across the state.

That's the entire state. The northern parts in particular were hotter than normal.

Twas pretty bloody warm in the Riverland this season.

Bigger screened Plasma TV's that chew more energy are you biggest concern.

I have a LCD that's not too bad power wise. My biggest power suckers are the electric hot water service which I'm stuck with and a mrs who insists on sleeping with the air con on if its a warm night (which I'm also stuck with). I just accept that I'm ****ed. I will make an extra effort with the modem and power points though. Already ditched the electric kettle - never realized it was a 2200W bad boy!

Hardly an excessive jump and nothing out of the ordinary.

Can't believe you are all discussing the weather as if it could actually matter if he was correct. You're mad all of you.

I know :(

But that's just how this thread rolls, baby.

Monty on strike for the last over of the NZ / ENG test match. NZ only need one wicket to win.

Poor poor Monty.
3 balls left, Prior on strike

We have teams from New Zealand in our elite domestic level sporting competitions in league, netball, basketball, soccer and Rugby (Not that the Rubgy or Netball are technically Australian competitions as such)

Why not cricket?

Get a couple of NZ teams into the Sheffield Shield I reckon. Shake things up a bit. It would be good for both countries.

I half heard a caller on some radio show a few weeks ago suggest the same thing. I think the answer was NZ cricket had more then once knocked back an offer. As I said I only heard in passing so happy to be corrected.

Seems like a pretty good idea to me though.
