Anzac guilt kept me from getting a good sleep on this morning.

I went to the dawn service, then stopped for an eggs benedict on the walk home, then went to sleep for a couple of hours. Now it's only 13 minutes until I can with propriety begin to drink. That's a public holiday.

I totally appreciate the sacrifice of the conscripted and those joining to defend Australia. They are true heroes.

I detest that modern soldiers are even spoken of in the same breath, they are well paid government workers with a great career that they chose.

As an aside I served in Kosovo, Afghanistan and Iraq and include my time in that.
