Sounds like some type of fairy floss touch footy tackle. You're right, there was nothing wrong with the 2 bumps rule and it got kids ready for physical contact and the need to dispose of the ball.

The rule in junior footy that makes me shake my head is the no kicking off the ground. When we already have a rule for kicking in danger, why in the hell is there a rule for not being able to kick off the ground. Watched my nephew play a game last year on a mud pit in pouring rain and the umpire (not his fault) must have paid 20 free kicks because kids were doing what came naturally.

Yeah another one i get annoyed with, i know its there to encourage the kids to pick the ball up

but unless its 100% obvious that he kicked it on purpose i normally yell "accidental play on"

understand it at U8's and U10's but U12's should be able to soccer it, U14's are

I'll behave in a matter befitting the football we play on the day.

Wife will be there to remove child from earshot if required.
Good to hear....hopefully wont be a repeat of the same game last year...or your wife and lass may be located on the other side of the ground! Is the stadium easy to get to?

Ah Sturt school league (so like Mitcham up to Blackwood), see as young as 4 is the same over here
at Auskick level they can use the tackling bag, but then they get rid of it when you start playing actual U8's they stop the tackle all together

Another good thing about country footy i suppose, hope it doesn't filter out to you guys, i know when i get my rules feedback sheet what i'll be talking about

It will be only a matter of time until there is uniformity of the rules though.

i don't get why there are these different grades, we have 9's 11's 13's 15's yet you have 8's 10's and 12's and 14's

Easy as piss.

TAXIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

Dingle taxi!!! :)

There are trains and buses I think but I don't like public transport.

I like buses (obviously being a P0rtz P0werz supporter) and trains I just don't like the public.

Agreed....public transport would be so much better minus the public part. Can you ask Kochie on the friday if any buses are running to the ground? Appreciate it!
Or, you could chauffeur drive me in your new Renault! :thumbsu:

Good point.

I will only be driving out there though.

Bride drives home.

Does it ever happen any other way??? Pretty sure the marriage certificate I signed had that in the fine print.

Get them knocked up and you have a chauffer for almost two years. Never complain about their driving during this time and they are happy for it to continue.

God love em.

Anyone own an i30 or Elantra looking for a new car for this missus and she seems keen on these maybe also the cruze.

Are you looking for feedback or if someone is selling?

feedback really, normally we would look at a second hand car but some of the deals on a new car a pretty good plus the trade in of my car.
I've already fallen in love with a 2012 impreza with upgraded leather seats but wife has said no :(

I work for a car rental company and we have both the i30 and Cruze.

The new i30 is pretty nice, very smooth on the road and reasonably comfortable (I'm 6'4").
The Cruze is a bit more comfortable, not as smooth but more powerful, we have noticed an issue with bad fading on the black surround near the side mirrors though.

yeah a mechanic mate just bought the cruze and likes it alot, my wife is keen on the new elantra the i30 is basically a hatch version but just has been finished off a bit better. The boot space is the selling point for us though because she is doing a new business and will need to be able to fit a certain size box in it and i'm not sure if it will fit in the elantra but the hatch of the i30 may open up more to get it in. we are going out tomorrow to check them all out anyway just keen to get people's opinions I don't really want to spend more than 20k with trade in so we are limiting ourselves a bit.

I'm a big fan of the Golf. Superb car and brilliant DSG gearbox.

I used Wheels Car Magazine to help guide my choice at the time. They have excellent reviews. Test drove a Mazda3, Cruze and Golf and settled on the Golf.

On the flip-side, Cruze's are crazy cheap for what you get. Holden would be barely breaking even and are probably relying on volume to get any sort of profit out of them. With the $AUD sliding, the imported cars will probably start to get more expensive so now is the time to get one if you're thinking of buying an import.

yeah the Cruze is real cheap, i can get one from a dealer for about 13k with trade in on one that has done about 4000km. The Golf I would imagine is a bit higher than what we want to spend but at least the quality would be there, I'm still wary on hyundai's quality. Just noticed the Renault Megane isn't too badly priced either.

Clearly the subliminal message was if you start drugs you don't have to stop.
