I was invited to a dress up party the other day, and I decided to go as Gary Glitter. I ordered my Gary Glitter costume online and when it arrived, it was far too small, it was like it was for f*cking children.

Costume parties, pfft. Who in their right mind honestly thinks they are a good idea.

I'm that dickhead that always goes as himself.

I normally go naked with my todger in a bowl of custard.

This is to show people I am ****ing discustard that adults have dress up parties.

80's themed ones are the worst. The last one of those I attended I just wore a pair of jeans, a t-shirt and a pair of vans skateboard sneakers. When questioned about not dressing in theme I replied "You might have dressed like a dick head in the 80's but I didn't".

You just described what I am wearing right this very second.

I try to find a way to make myself a "port supporter" for any themed party I have to go to and just wear normal clothes with a Port hat. I ****ing hate costume/theme parties.

My footy club had a "lol" themed party last night. I didn't go out of principle, worst idea for a theme ever.

You should quit and find a new club.

My favourite costumes that I've used in the past are Dr Zoidberg, a Jedi, a Port player wearing my PB lace up for "what did you want to be when you grew up" and Major Nelson from I dream of Jeannie when my wife went as Jeannie.

Costume parties are great if everyone embraces them.

Get back to me when you finish primary school :)

It's classic yips/choking.

There are a few good youtube vids on the science of this. Basically when a professional footballer kicks a ball, they don't have to think about it. They've done it so many times that it's just muscle memory. An elite footballer doesn't have to think about kicking, it just happens. It even uses a different part of the brain than kicking for the first time.

The problem is, when players get nervous or put under pressure, they overthink and their brain switches to the part of the brain used when someone is first learning to do something, so the thousands upon thousands of kicks they do at training are now meaningless, and they are kicking like a relative beginner.

If that makes any sense.

This video is pretty good at explaining it.

IMO all Butcher needs is to play a lot more footy and for his teammates to get him some relatively easy shots at goal without a lot of pressure. Once he works himself into games, the kicking will take care of itself.

yep, my girlfriend just couldn't perform to expectations without choking.

We just worked through the problem and with a bit of experience she gained confidence and relaxed. The combination of these enabled her to not only perform but become an expert finisher.

She is now a great goal shooter.

I watched the movie 'Rubber' tonight.
It's about a tyre named Robert who comes to life with a mean attitude and the ability to telepathically explode heads.

Believe it or not it was actually a great movie and I strongly recommend it.
