Today Tonight ran a nice story on Randall Gerlach tonight. The more mature posters on this Board would know Randall. It was good to see him after so many years.

His promising career at the Magpies was cut short because of kidney disease. He played his last game for Port in our 1977 grand final win against Glenelg, playing with 10% kidney function according to his doctor. That's mind blowing. He's the survivor of three kidney transplants. His received his latest kidney seven years ago from his daughter Amanda.

The Today Tonight story also promoted tomorrow's game. Port and Hawthorn are playing for Zaidee's trophy. Zaidee died at seven years of age, and donated her organs and tissues. Her parents formed the Zaidee's Rainbow Foundation after her death to promote/encourage organ donation. Robbie Gray's an ambassador for this great cause.

Well sorry to follow ^that with such a frivolous post, but Pacific Rim is about as good as a big dumb monster sci-fi movie will ever get. Just glorious. Will probably only see it three or four more times in the coming months.

Almost any podcast with intro music/titles that take longer than 2 seconds I stop listening to - not worth it.

Pls note this podcasters, I don't give a shit about your title track, those things exist for conventional media where you might want to know something is starting and not miss anything.

Your show is play on demand. I am playing it right now because I hope to hear something useful right now, not because I want to sit through a title song. I don't need a couple of minutes of filler while I get my slippers and dressing gown before sitting in front of the TV/Computer.

You are using strategies because you want me to keep listening, but if you're not playing ads during the show, then why do you want me to listen for longer? What value is genuinely added? If you have six segments, put up six podcasts! Let me hear the parcels I want to hear. If you are playing ads during the podcast, I stop listening. PODCASTS ARE NOT TV.

Henceforth start entertaining me immediately. Thanks.

I should clarify; by `useful' I mean either highly funny or especially mockable.

Fair enough then. I do agree in principle but I do love the Joe Rogan podcast intro. It helps that it usually comes up about 10-15 minutes in.

Therein lies the stupidity of this DRS. English batsmen has ball hitting more of leg stump, but because umpire gives him not out, he stays in. Watson has ball hitting bees diaphragm of leg stump, but because umpire gave him out, he is out. Does that not make sense to anyone else????

Nup. campaigners are just as corrupt as those other campaigners in Hobart in round six.

It actually is an officially licensed product, because the AFL allow Sekem to manufacture cheap bullshit guernseys and training singlets to sell at k-mart and whatnot. They've made similar items for all teams. It's pretty shit though, Port would get absolutely no money from it at all, as neither they nor ISC made it. I hate it. But it's not a knock off, it's just some horrible designing.

So, after Carlton won tonight, our R23 game against them could be huge.

Finals spot up for grabs.
(Most probably) Last AFL game at AAMI.
Heritage jumper.
(Most probably) Friday night.
