Snicko got Hughes. They showed it about 5 minutes after he was given out by 3rd umpire.

I assume the umpire had access to that well before we saw it. Not sure why they wont show us. As 3rd umpire is looking at it.

This test match is heading to depressing places, so I am going to continue binge-watching Orange is the New Black on Netflix.

Roger's would of used the review if Watson hadn't already wasted one.

Roger's was given out on a LBW that wasn't out.

Thanks I have been flicking between footy, cricket and TDF and heard something about a wasted review.

Watson was out LBW. He is often out that way so why is he wasting a review??? Is this the cancer Mikey Arthur talked abut?

22 times dismissed out of 75 times dismissed before this test have been LBW.

Clarke has been dismissed 17 times LBW out of 141 dismissals.

Watson should be told he is never allowed to refer again. He clearly has no fckn idea. Sadly it did cost Rogers who was clearly not out and then Hughes refers, no sign of a touch on hotspot, and he is still given out. I dot know why they bother with this DRS?

Snicko isn't available to the 3rd Umpire.

So was he given out on hot spot? That's crap there was no hot spot. But snicko was clearly out.

No wonder the Indians have said bugger off to the DRS.

I can't work out why the review system isn't automatically used on all LBW appeals. They already check all dismissals for the front foot rule so why leave LBW's to chance. The review system was brought in to correct rogue decisions and it is obviously not achieving its objective. You might as well go back to the old umpires call system.

Exactly. It is basically random checks on umpiring decisions. Check them all. Makes a farce of the game instead of improving it.

The linked video of the bike model on a wire moving along the side with the riders is probably the best thing I've seen the crowd/town folks do in 20 odd years of watching TDF.

He did it the last test too. It's like he thinks it's his personal get out of jail free card for being an opener.

Clarke might be right about him, I'm afraid.

English number 9, 10 and 11: lets make some runs, flat pitch, smackbanvwallop.
Australian top 6: WTF, like facing hand grenades on a cow paddock, impossible to bat on.
Watson: Me, it's all about Me.

He wasn't given out by the 3rd umpire it was classed inconclusive which went back to the umpires original call which he said was out

Haha inconclusive. There was no hotspot, how is that inconclusive? The 3rd umpire must have considered the sound on the video, if he doesn't get snicko, to say inconclusive.

There was a spot...faint as shit though i saw it...but i couldnt tell if it was the discolouration ofbthe bat or a snick

To think we had them 3 for 28...lol

I would be surpised if he is not culled by the end of the series....the australian public will be calling for his head

I tell you who I feel sorry for.

Mike Hussey (debuted at 30/31)
Martin Love
Jamie Cox
David Hussey
Matt Elliott
Brad Hodge
Michael Di Venuto
Darren Lehmann
Michael Bevan

All blokes who played relatively little or even no test cricket for Australia who would be all superstars in this team had they been born 10-20 years' later.

Absolutely unreal the contrast in depth in Australian cricket in such a relatively short space of time.

Bevan had plenty of chances and was all at sea against good pace bowling.

He got better as he got older. Freakshow of a 4-day batsman after his bird had flown.

Would shit all over everyone but Clarke.

Lehmann was the unluckiest. Was named as 12th man for a Test at the SCG in 1989 and somehow fell out of favour. The selectors at the time, led by John Benaud, seemed to be seduced by the yet to debut Mark Waugh and just about anyone else in a baggy blue cap. Lehmann was as good a player as any of his generation and should have played 70-plus Tests.

By the by, Bevan finished with 68 first class centuries at an average of 57.

30yo Ed Cowan, the man deemed worthy of replacing Ricky Ponting at #3 in the First Test of an Ashes series doesn't even average 40.

I mean, shit.
