Is anyone old enough to remember when the Adelaide News pretty well made Tonkin the premier in SA using his newspapers?.
For those who are too young, Tonkin was dumped after just one term and there was a massive debate about media moguls.
Well surprise surprise, similar style headlines are starting to appear.
Wish tools that own newspapers weren't able to do that sort of crap, that is enough to make me want to vote against the libs in this election regardless of policies.

EDIT: This is from Wiki I couldn't be bothered to google to hard.

In 1979, during the run-up to the South Australian state election, the Murdoch owned The News campaigned against the Australian Labor Party in South Australia. A successful complaint was heard by the APC which News Limited representatives alleged contained irregular procedures, leading the News to withdraw from the Council.[17]

Putting this statement down to a case of temporary insanity. Hopefully its just a very short lived condition.
Nah, I become a conspiracy theorist whenever I see a newspaper mogul push too hard for one party or another.

Many years after seeing the movie Goodfellas I still slice my garlic paper thin because I saw it in that movie.

Anyone else do this?
No, but I always make the kids in my street carry the shopping from my car.

You do remember the News Ltd papers pushed hard for Rudd in 2007 don't you?

I think they have realised the error of thier ways.

As I said, I become a conspiracy theorist whenever I see a newspaper group/chain/whatever push too hard for one party or another.

Why was it necessary to mention the names?

Hope you're not anticipating a logical answer as to how and why the media do things:rolleyes: but headlines = money, so being sensitive doesn't come into it.:(

But being a dog person, I.........

I have never understood the love for The Cure song "Close to me".

I just heard it on the wireless.

Shit in 86 and shit now and yet one of the most loved Cure songs???

Robert Smith has taken more interesting shits than that song.
