She can't sing

I don't like Rihanna's music, but this is ridiculously undeserved criticism. She can quite definitely sing, and she has a ton of talent.

What she produces is often not reflective of that because of the need to sell CDs to the masses, and the generic backing, but some of her earlier songs prove that she is actually a great singer.

That being said, I can't comment on stage performances because I've never watched any.

If there's any popular female artist you should criticise for sounding terrible it'd be Nicki Minaj. She's lucky to be in the right key, let alone sound good. I suppose your entire body being made out of plastic would have an effect on your vocal cords, though.

Off to have a big feed, then I'm joining the purple army walking from fed square to the G.

It's a good day to be a freo fan ;)

It was the episode between Bon Scott dressed as a school girl and Iggy Pop scaring the shit out of a heap of school girls singing I'm Bored.

How could you forget that stuff man?
I'm Bored or The Wild One?

What do you get when you cross O'Shea with the casual one? O'Keefe

I wasted money on pizza delivery last night.
Could have got a packet of prunes for a tenth of the price. :(

Wow, that was actually nice! :D

A beautiful song for a beautiful girl.

All the music I like is beautiful, it's just that sometimes you need to look harder for the beauty...

There's a description I once heard about Wagner's music, which I like to apply to a whole raft of loud metal/rock, which is that once you peel away the machismo, there's a beautiful melody in its heart.

Don't ever think I only like loud/metal rock, in fact due to being a typical "music snob youth" I actively avoided metal and all its derivatives until much later in life.

I see a beauty in this

What a shit grand final. It was the first one I had been able to watch in 4 years due to work commitments, and it was absolute tripe.

Thanks Obama.

Eddie Dingle: My `music snob youth' involved avoiding any music recorded in Australia, particularly if it won an ARIA award. I try to stick by that second measure today.

Re: metal, I pretty much went the other way - mostly a taste for classical music and `metal', which slowly became a taste for interesting electronic shit and bearded hipster acoustics.

- at one point I had convinced myself that this was the best shit around

- aborted attempt at uni led me here, L7 still makes my playlist.

- progressed to FNM, and through to Mr Bungle before Amon Tobin won me over with the Bricolage album.

PS, a song specially for you :hearts:

Watching the Senna doco. Not going to like watching the end. Gonna be man tears.

I was fine until they started showing the interviews of everyday Brazilians mourning his death. Their devastation was just so immense, and I remember one girl saying something along the lines of 'he was our only pride/hope and now its gone'.

That got me.
