I can't remember the last book that I read, do people read books anymore?

Sure do, I'm impatiently waiting for the 4th book in the Final Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, the Unbeliever, The Last Dark. This is the 10th & last book in this epic series that began in 1977.

I've read all of Sven Hassel's books, Frank Herbert, George Orwell, Evelyn Waugh, E. E. "Doc" Smith, Agatha Christie, Robert E. Howard, Douglas Adams, Clive Cussler, James Clavell, Stephen King, Arthur C. Clarke, Isaac Asimov, among others, plus 100's of war books, sci-fi, tons of sci-fi series, fantasy, historical, biographies, etc.

Catch-22 is my favourite, followed by Sunk by Mochitsura Hashimoto.

p.s Hugh Hefner style magazines are not books.

I haven't read a novel for over 20 years. But I read lots of articles and magazines so I only tend to read books on subjects that really grab me. Last one I finished reading was Tyler Hamilton's The Secret Race. I bought Seven Deadly Sins - My Pursuit of Lance Armstrong by Sunday Times journo David Walsh. Bought it on first day of the tour down under this year, but by May I had only got just after half way and have never finished it off.

Combo I got a bit sick in May and so much had come out after the USADA stuff, then Oprah, another 4 Corners story and general stuff that came out meant I didn't have a great desire to read more as I knew most of what was in the book.

I bought George Megalogenis' book The Australian Moment in August but didn't pick it up until after the footy finished. I'm about 20% of the way thru but I want to get in the mood to read it over a weekend.
