REH........that speech that the great Kennedy made still curdles my blood. I was born in 1969, i was alive when man first landed on the moon. The Apollo program is where we are now because we chose to go to the moon. Our fore fathers have so much inspiration that we can learn from, and teach our kids how to learn.

I recall I saw the 1969 moon landing on TV at Nui Dat, Vietnam - strange place to see something like that, looking back.

JFK, who predicted the landing, had been dead nearly six years.

Hey fella, i studied the whole Apollo program when i was i kid, my parents were flower children lol. I was at mum and dads wedding. I was born on the 29th May 1969....good year i reckon.

I have been through Americas whole space program, from the beginnings of Apollo, which was Gemini, trying out the Saturn V Rocket..........until now. I have a fascination with all things space.

I sometimes envisage myself getting away from Earth, to see what is out there.

I turned 5 in June 1969 so I started school in June, it was called reception as it was mid year. In mid July man walked on the moon and we were allowed to watch it at school. I was awestruck. It started my life long search to find answers to the complex questions. As a single event, it probably has had the greatest impact on my life. My parents had a lot bigger impact but that was over many events and many years.

You need a truly great orator to deliver a message about such a complex issue and set the agenda to do stuff never achieved before. This 2 minute part of a 17 minute speech JFK explains why they are going as per the quote in my signature, and then he has to explain what the hell they are going to have to do to achieve their goal.

Don't know if you have pay tv, but in 1999 about 6 months after it was on HBO in USA the following series was on pay tv in Oz. Tom Hanks who after staring in the Apollo 13 movie was bitten by the space bug again and went and made for HBO a 12 part x 1 hour miniseries drama called from From the Earth to the Moon ( which I have on tape and pull out once a year or so) about the Apollo mission program and it concentrated on the key people involved. It shows the many sides of the US space program and looks at it from many angles. The series starts in 1957 with Sputnik and ends with the last mission - Apollo 17 in 1972.

The Dish is a great documentary about the televising of the moon landing and the role Australia played. ;)

But it's not what you see on the Red Centre mahjong tile... not exactly.
It's blue for a start, you may have noticed.

It's the second in my personal series of Five Cryptic Avatars leading up to Chinese New Year.
The first day of the Year of the Wood Horse is Friday, 31 January 2014.
By then, all should have been revealed...

And we will ALL be Pretty Pleased Port Adelaide People.
