So, the SAPolice facebook posted about changed traffic conditions for the big bash match tonight. This is what a lady had to say:

"This oval is already a huge inconvenience!!!! Absolute stupidity to put it in the city!"

followed by another lady with:

"Typical to have a big crowd drawing match slap bang in the city on New Years Eve. What about the people wanting to attend the. Celebrations near by!"

Something tells me the "new years eve is all about the children and dah firewerkssss" crew are mad.

There's something you need to understand about 90% of the Adelaide population.
They are special people who hate change.

I am not joking, any change to the way things have been for the last 100 years scares them.

We were lucky AO actually got done, I remember seeing the news article that the people who live in the CBD were actually blocking the allowed height of buildings being raised because they live in the CBD and didn't want the construction near them.

FFS You live in the ****ing CBD, you have no right to whinge about sky scrapers going up and expansions happening you stupid mongs.

Yeah, because Adelaide Oval has never before held big events up until the revamp, ever.

Yeah, because Adelaide Oval has never before held big events up until the revamp, ever.

I can remember six Big Events being held in successive years at the Olde Adelaide Oval -
the first in 1954... another in 1955... then 1956... 1957... 1958... 1959.

But then I'm an Olde myself.

Geez, I can sympathise, I hated it that time I was going to see a show in New York and, like, every other theatre in Midtown was sold out too! Times Square was a mess!

Just bought a Nespresso Lattissima coffee machine.... Pretty happy.

I've got a De'lognhi, can't live without it. <3 the Roma type.

Hey so I've never gone to an Elder Park NYE fireworks whatsit before, but I'm actually getting off work at around 11pm and it's on the walk home.

So my question to anyone who knows is... where do I go to find the beer?

Whenever I read comments like these I think of Michael McGuire's Stirring up the ants' nest. Seems like this piece will be timeless.

Nope, the council website mentions a "New Year’s Eve Bar & Beer Garden", but no maps, dammit!

My first big event there was the 1980 KISS concert.

They've built pubs around Adelaide Oval??? Sodom and Gomorrah!!! Pray for the little children and fireworks.

We beat Norwood in 1955 and 1957 - saw both of those Big Events.
The opposition were the ones with dementia on those two Saturdays.
Double dementia.

As for my recent memory - I recall 1962, 1963 and 1965.

Funny... I have a blank when it comes to 1960, 1961, 1964 (especially 1964), 1966 -
Then comes an extended blank spot....

Oh and we can't park on the parklands for the match because the Adelaide City Council of Dinosaurs from the Cretaceous Period say:

"Pinky Flat is a designated fireworks safety zone."

...wut

Same one as me. Awesome product, just for the love of god remember to clean out the milk thing. Else your coffee will taste like ass for weeks. NEVER use cleaning agents/suds/washing liquid because it will also store the taste of that, and it will taste like ass.

Wash in water only - and for the love of god don't let it sit. It will even go off in the fridge after a day or two.
