Nu metal as a whole is absolute dogshit but Linkin Park's first two albums are always dear to me because i listened to him so much as a kid/early teen.

What is considered nu metal? I am just getting my head around the different music genres and what it all means.
If SOAD, Grinspoon, Velvet revolver, unwritten law are nu metal, I am guilty.

Having a mate who sings (using this term very loosely) in a Brutal Death Metal/Slam pr0n/Gore band and seeing them play a couple of times, I can not understand what attracts people to this style of music, but everyone has their thing I suppose.

SOAD would be, not the others. Think more your Korn, Mudvayne, Papa Roach, POD, Limp Bizkit, etc.

I already liked & admired Tom Logan for bleeding for the jumper, the courage he shows each game & earning his 100 games after being put on the AFL scrap heap.

His stock just went higher in my book though after I saw this tweet/pic of him meeting Aaron Paul in 2011!

I never understood what defines 'ol' metal' either, I always thought that anything which sounded similar to Paranoid was Heavy Metal, but over the years some of the music that has been labelled 'Metal' has been astounding. In my world there are only 2 genres of music. Rock, and Not Rock.

I only ever think of the Young Ones when I see Madness. I know they did "House of Fun", but think they appeared in another episode. Motörhead are another band that will be forever linked to that show for me too.

Are Deftones considered Nu Metal? Because they are the only band from the genre you can take seriously, although I'd probably consider them a modern shoe gaze band. Every other band from the genre are almost joke/parody bands full of carnies and followed by carnies.

A good rule of thumb is to not take anything seriously that has the prefix "Nu" attached.

Just watching the NFL (saints v Seahawks ??). I don't mind the game but they need to make it quicker. The last 2:46 took 25minutes. Ridiculous imo

This is why NFL Gamepass is such a good purchase. You can condense games into play-by-play coverage, so you can watch a game in 15 minutes.
