SOAD have a couple of cool songs iirc, but yeah they aren't really nu-metal, more like a just a weird hard rock band

Always like Grinspoon, i'd consider them just a rock band though. Not a huge fan of brutal death where it just gets far too heavy, although it does go alright sometimes. Death metal wise I'm more of a melodic death or old school death metal kind of person.
This kind of thing (Melbourne band)

(sorry for further shitting the thread up with metal :D)

Went and saw Be'Lakor tonight, they were tight. What a great sound, thanks for the heads up.

Randy Rhoads, such a virtuoso.... Taken at age 24 before he could really take over the world as the greatest guitarist that lived. One of the biggest tragedies ever...

Still rate Bonzo's death as the biggest tragedy in music...

The first showdown from 2013 is on Fox right now.
Never get tired of watching it, pretty much called the game I've seen it that often.

I still get a laugh seeing the collision between Ollies shoulder & Dangers nose, pretty sure he had one ineffective touch for the rest of the match lol.

lots of people have called that wolf of wall street movie 'brilliant' and 'amazing' but i don't get how.. it just felt like a nothing film they put out to desensitise people with all its pr0n and dicaprio as a 'drug addict', backed up by a boring story that's been done way too many times.. it was such a long waste of time! i was cringing right from the start when it was already failing to be as good as those other movies depicting high flying businessman american douchebags from the 80s, then it felt like they tried to be as obnoxious and as crappy as possible by shoving nudity and swearing everywhere. first time i went to the cinemas in years and i guess i got the real hollywood experience.. they're not exactly supposed to educate you are they?

... It was part of the Thelema /Thelemic society ..... After a couple of years in jail he exiled himself to the USA but poor health, had diabetes, alcohol and drugs saw him die of a heart attack at 44 ......

Still lived longer than members of the Thelma and Louise society.

Someone mentioned poutine.

This is simply chips and gravy with cheese curds put in the gravy. So simple, and so effective. I love this stuff. I'd eat it five times a week if I could.

Canada's greatest culinary gift to humanity. Ranks right up with the pie floater.

Batman & Robin. So terrible.

Yet I can't look away.
Uma Thurman is in it; there are a million worse films. Anyway I reckon the 'serious' Batman films are all pretty crap. If Adam West isn't the lead it's not worth watching.

Edited to remove mistaken claim (picked up by @raman) that Danny DeVito was in it

Nah, it's truly awful. It's not even good cawful nor the camp awful they were trying for. Just a bad film.

Can't remember ever having that in Canada. Is that a Vancouver speciality like a floater is an Adelaide culinary delight??

I became very attached to going to pubs in Canada and ordering very hot or suicide hot chicken wings - usually causing me to drink more beer than I intended. I remember thinking why don't we have this in Oz or at least more food to go with the drinking at pubs. I reckon it took 10 years after I came home before a lot of pubs cottoned on to doing hot cooked snack food all day to go with the drinking.

Alicia Silverstone was a high school crush of mine.... Clueless provided a lot of material.

And is also actually a decent little movie, too.

You realize it was a true story, right? That all actually happened?

I would have paid big bucks for noods of her about that time despite the fact she was about 82.

Bought a house at auction today. Everything is coming up Millhouse.

Good for you young fella, look forward to vomiting on your carpet after a pert pear game some time.
