Had this over on BDC but wanted to give it a push on the main board......

We still need another 12 strong players for VS Dream Team (same format as old Dream Team*). This is the league which will compete against the rest of the Big Footy Board for the championship. PM myself or Noobz0r if interested!
* for those who are unaware the original creators of Dream Team (Virtual Sports) have split from the AFL this year. AFL have therefore created AFL Fantasy which will be the mainstream product no doubt and has seen some rule changes that a lot of fanatics are disappointed in. Virtual Sports have basically retained the same format as prior years and gone out on their own retaining the name Dream Team. The BF Main Board had a vote a couple of weeks back as to which format would be used for this year's champs and Dream Team came out in front.

It did remind me of a conversation with the soon to be Mrs KP the other night though. I jumped on the bed with the ipad and said "check out these great new portrait shots of the players. Look at TJ!!" She responds "meh, he is not my type". Me..."what do you mean? look at him, he is massive! the guy has muscles on his dandruff!!" Her response "you know, we are getting married in a little under 3 weeks so if you are a little unsure then now would be the time to say something"....

Yep.

Deus Ex still hasn't been beaten, not even close. Human Revolution basically missed the entire point of the first game, which is giving people a goal and a wide open map, and letting them achieve that goal however they please, with a reactive, living breathing world that leads to all sorts of awesome emergent play.

It's not as if it was a fanbase dividing game ala Fallout 3, while it wasn't as open or as deep as the original, it was still a great game. Deus Ex has some flaws too, useless skills and dated graphics even for it's time.

Yeah I finished Human Revolution - a prequel to the original Deus Ex. It was good, but it was too short. Deus Ex is still the high water mark. But again, badly dated graphics. What other game can take you from Liberty Island to Hells Kitchen to Hong Kong to Paris to an Air Force Base to eventually end up at Area 51, stopping a genetically engineered virus and a nuclear strike in the process while meeting the Chinese Triads, the Illuminati and grey aliens?

I was super impressed with HR's story. Probably one of the best games of recent times, I played it before Deus Ex. Rate it higher than the original but probably because it was before my time.
