Spiderbait were ok.

You am I are the equal worst "alternative" Australian band with The Living End. Just shitful.

Can we please talk about Things of Stone and Wood for a minute?

You am I and spiderbait playing memorial drive after the showdown, **** yes!! Come at me metal heads.

oh yes. you am i are one of the best live bands going around. spiderbait are ok too, but geez you am i. no need to take the car, ill be drinking, heavilly.

They were on the footy show grand final show last year, I wasn't really watching it but my other half got so angry she had to change the channel, stating you am i were god awful.

fellow ween fan, you am i and the living end are both awesome live.

Well due to the fact that I have been to many music festivals over the years and The Living End get dragged out for every ****ing single one of them I will say from a position of some knowledge here I am going to disagree and stick with my original statement.

As for You am I, thank the good lord Boognish I have not had the misfortune and I pray every night I don't ever see Tim Rogers in the flesh.

It would end badly for both of us.

Why are You Am I getting shit canned and Powderfinger get off Scott free? They are both pretty much the same generic dad "Aussie Rock" band that seemed to be force fed to anyone attending an Australian music festival between 2000-2010.

been to many similar festivals i would think, seen you am i play about 15 times live over the years, never fails, tle ive only ever seen at festivals, they are a crowd favourite (which is why they always get on those festivals) each to their own, but everyone should love ween.

Were Fingerbang ever classified as "alternative"?

I would classify them as shitful in the extreme.

They played the "Indyfest" I went to in 1997 at Adelaide Uni. Indy is supposed to be alternative yeah? Especially back then.

OT but Indy is the most inappropriately used word in the music world these days, and it kinda annoys me

Well they are really. There was a big all in Australian Rock samey blandathon in that post-grunge era in the mid to late 90s and early 2000s. INXS were gone and Tex Perkins tried his hardest but he's only one man. Frenzal Rhomb were more of a fringe band and Nick Cave had done his best stuff by 1997.

Don't get me wrong I loved lots of these bands, but Powderfinger, Jebediah, Silverchair, You am I, Something for Kate, Bodyjar, the Whitlams. Where's the charisma? Where's the ground breaking creativity?

Harsh on Nick Cave who has done some great work with the Bad Seeds, Grinderman, Warren Ellis and others since 1997.

Everything else in your post is spot on.
