Kickpuncher, interesting article on the ABC News website, Game of Thrones and the case for piracy. Not that you'd promote an illegal activity on BigFooty![]()

I 'acquire' GoT via the interwebz (I have Foxtel, but not the package that has GoT), but I also own all 3 seasons on Blu-Ray. They still get money out of me is the way I see itThe logical thing here is that if everybody stole say, GoT....would it still be an ongoing project? It's one thing to say that being pirated is like 'winning an Emmy', it's another to have no finances to continue production

Exactly. 100% piracy would mean that production would have to survive on revenue from merchandising alone which I doubt would be viable. The logical thing here is that if everybody stole say, GoT....would it still be an ongoing project? Well the Blu Rays don't generally come out until quite a bit after the season has aired, so in essence I am 'borrowing' it for a period, and then making payment at a later date.Theoretically you haven't stolen it have you? Some movies you purchase in disc form nowadays have that code where you can also download them to your hard drive

To me, the issue is not really about price. It's about availability.
This.
I didn't download The Walking Dead this season because it was on Foxtel within hours of US broadcast.
I'm still downloading Game of Thrones because there's more of a delay.
