I can't imagine a true crime story being brought to life on the screen in a much better way. Suspense without trying to sensationalise anything. Didn't hold your hand and lead you down any specific path to try and throw a twist your way, just presented each theory as it came along. It was refreshing.

The mrs doesn't get scared in any movies, but Zodiac was the first time she turned to me (when Jakey boy was in that basement) and said that she was legit almost looking away for the first time ever.

Good summary. Basically a three hour movie with no violent scenes beyond the 45-minute mark, just a huge pile of information, but presented in an absolutely riveting way.

It's also admirable in that it makes a compelling argument about who the killer was, but doesn't bash you over the head with its theory. It makes the unknown strangely satisfying. Those last two scenes.

Fun fact: the creepy guy in that scene was the voice of Roger Rabbit.

I love slow burn flicks that kind of engulf you and take you into the story but I never got that with Zodiac. It could be how I watched it and the mood I was in. Its probably the movie ive been most disappointed in so maybe it needs a re-watch. I did love those last 2 scenes. I just felt at the time like you could have removed 50 minutes from it and you wouldnt have lost anything from the story.

Well yeah but I found I interpreted the plot different to other people though...

Its a pretty horrible film, I'm extremely unamazed by it not being in the ranks of Shawshank, even though it was very well made. I don't think I would ever want to watch it a second time, it wrecked me emotionally the first.

I'm on the tablelands behind Cairns, so away from where it will be worse, like Cooktown, apparently it's the rain which will be worse for us, however we will still get up to 190 km wind gusts where we are as it moves south over us at still Cat 2 or 1 strength. I was living about 25 k's from town inthamiddlanowhere when Yasi hit, the eye went about 30-40 k's south of us and from about 10pm until I fell asleep at 4:30 am was the scariest feeling and noises I ever remember
