The Beatles doco was a good laugh. How sexually repressed was Oz and Adelaide back then? I knew 300k turned up in Adelaide but all these years I never knew the crowd lined up all the way from the airport to the city with no breaks.

First time I have ever seen footage of the NZ tour.

Great phone-ins on Radio 891 (last Friday I think) from people who were there. A really interesting microcosm of Adelaide that day. Uni graduation dinner at the hotel they were staying at that was thrown into chaos. Schoolgirls, well several of those wet panty calls, even years later. People who were kids watching their parents go nuts.
For the record I was there accidentally, very young and down from Naracoorte with my father. I remember it for some odd Beatles-associated stuff that happened that day. But later that day we had to catch the train back to the SE, or the late 1940s depending on how you viewed it.

That show was huge amongst our circle in the day. People would gather at one particular friend's house to watch it. Anyone who spent a few years in share houses after leaving home (as I did) would get the caricatures. Vale Rick Myall.

And him and Vivian kept their characters going to an extant, with Bottom

ELEANOR HALL: It caused headlines around the world 40 years ago, and might go some way to explaining a particular brand of Queensland politics.

The incident? At the end of their Australian tour, in late June 1964, the Beatles arrived in Brisbane to be greeted by screaming fans and also, to be pelted with eggs.

Just who threw the eggs has always been a bit of a mystery.

Well, on the 40th anniversary of the Beatles Australian tour, Federal MP Bob Katter has decided to own up and also to dob in several high profile barristers.

Incredible, "I am the egg man ..." resulted from the antics of Bob Katter et al in Brisbane in the 1960s. BigFooty is freaking educational.

I cant make a few games now due to work. My next game is us v the Suns up there, then we travel home to watch us v Carlton.

My point is, my daughter and her mate are going to use our tickets to watch a few games. Bulldogs and Essendon i think. Should i be worried ? She loves the Chingod, and shes the same age as him. I'm sure she'll make it her point to say hello :straining:

Hahahaha !! Ive tried that one, with a wife and two daughters it doesn't wash. I'm a grandfather too Stufff, my eldest just didn't take my advice. But hey, ive got Billy and Issiaha. They'll be playing football as soon as they can pick up a football.

As for my youngest, if she has Chads kids, i wouldn't mind :p
