Can only assume he would be running back. Tough gig to take on at 27 when you have never played the game before.
Never heard of Hayne![]()
Even that is a tough gig to get. Some of those guys returning kicks are quicksilver. And kickoffs are very rarely, if ever, returned these days. Punts maybe, but is a big move to maybe return the odd punt.Kick return

Yeah but dangerfield almost won the brownlow thus that's not really indicativeHe was joint winner of rugby leagues Brownlow this year.

The old adage of 'ooh, they have to wear pads, how soft are those guys' would soon be dispelled when a 6 foot 4, 120kg ball of muscle hits you at 100 miles an hour.Absolutely, its a tough gig. Hayne isnt a slouch and is extremely elusive. Having said that, I think he might get a shock at how crazy those NFL guys tackle. Pads/helmet only give them more reason to attempt killing a player with the ball
There is also no way a club will hire a specialised kick returner.Even that is a tough gig to get. Some of those guys returning kicks are quicksilver. And kickoffs are very rarely, if ever, returned these days. Punts maybe, but is a big move to maybe return the odd punt.

Yeah but that would be an age thing with himContinuing the toilet and the workplace theme, I recall a former colleague of ours once pass on some fatherly type advice to me which largely went:
"never trust a man who goes to the cubicle to p155 when there is space available at the urinal"
He probably won't recall saying it though.

Yes that's what I meant, but I thought the term "senility" too harsh. The old adage of 'ooh, they have to wear pads, how soft are those guys' would soon be dispelled when a 6 foot 4, 120kg ball of muscle hits you at 100 miles an hour.
I'm trying to avoid Australian sports news services facebook/twitter for this very reason.
The majority of 'athletes' in the NRL would get obliterated at college level, let alone NAFFLE.

Nah.
This is JJ Watt, before he was drafted to the NFL.
He's 196cms & 130kgs and has a standing vert of 1.39 metres.
It's so next level it's not even fair.
