Only time I got in trouble on Bigfooty was for a personal attack on another user the mod said "Honestly I loved your post" and "Keep on truckin! I screenshotted it all too" in his warning to me.

My greatest achievement was a 30-day sitewide ban for posting the homelink and associated family photos from the completely unprotected photobucket of a dickhead who was using said photobucket to post interminable POORT POOWER memes.

After pointing out some responsibility should lay with the owner of said photobucket who had essentially linked it of their own accord, I was still given short shrift.

Having been a moderator I can appreciate the job can be shitty and thankless, but honestly, you don't have to act like a bouncer crossed with a lifeguard crossed with a parking officer when your autoderp is challenged.

Mad Dog carded me in 2007 in the Bay for calling out Ricciuto for playing injured in the EF against Hawthorn just so he could break the club games record. He gave me a yellow card for that....in the Bay!!!

I PM'd him and called him a pathetic disgrace of a moderator so he gave me a red card.

25 years ago today - well yesterday Euro time was truly a great ****en day in world history. A day that truly change world history. Not only did it liberate East Europeans but it liberated thinking in the west and our governments had to start thinking differently and to not piss the peace dividend up against fhe wall.

But capatilsm has celebrated the victory a bit too hard. The GFC was the culmination of 19 years of over celebrating and over consumption . But its interesting how 25 years on,, Russia isnt fully trusted and ex KGB agent is the boss.

Good to see Gorby there celebrating. Unfortunately Kohl and Reagan disnt last as long. But he wasnt wearing a hat like he used to. I always wanted write a song called I want to wear a hat just like Gorby, as a way of saying thanks for changing the world peaacefully.

Have you read Anna Funder's Stasiland, REH? Very good novel for personal stories out of the GDR. Very horrifying to think of living in a world where your every move was watched and recorded in detailed accounts. Any sign of dissidence made you a suspect of the Stasi. Terrible stuff.

No but pretty sure I saw her interviewed about it in a long interview on BBC program.

I think just over half the adult population were informats to the Stassi. It was insidious but sometime the rewards were the only way to access basic goods and services to stay alive.

Double Olympic Gold medalist Katarina Witt has talked about how she got access to her Stassi file and found out how much of her life was put down on file and listening devices put in her house and recordings of her sexual activity kept. And here was a person who was a world star and put a pleasant face on the East German regime because of her beauty as well as her talent.

A young Aussie kid may have done as much as Ronnie and Maggie to get Gorby over the line...
