Yes but an individual person is not a court system. We have a right to hold an opinion on the balance of probabilities based on the information available, and to express and discuss said opinion. I don't think it's especially alarmist or indeed even unfair to state that Cosby is in all likelihood a serial rapist.

It's alright, Cosby can use O.J.'s lawyer...oh.

Do other clubs' boards on Big Footy have as many random Guernsey threads as the Port board does?
Starting one is a rite of passage for newbies here, you did do that didn't you?

I disagree (not that you don't have the right but I believe you should adjust your opinion), if being a rapist did not hold a huge social stigma then it would be fairer to have the assumption. However, as it does and is seen as one of the worst crimes then he is, and should be entitled to the assumption of innocence by anyone who believes in justice.

On the other hand, victims seldom follow through with seeking justice, because of the enormous emotional toll. Offenders often use this to their advantage

That is deeply unfortunate but no way Can that justify tarring an innocent man.

You implying he is innocent? Me, I have no idea but I'm guessing there will be a trial by people as the statute of limitations won't allow legal process. If he is indeed innocent then he should be able to prove or sway opinion as such in this interview. If not, the shit really will stick. Forever.

OK, lets say he might have the assumption of innocence, but is it fair to then automatically judge the multiple claimants on the assumption of completely making shit up?

There's a bit of a difference between a few skeletons in the closet and a series of rapes with identical M.O.s taking place over decades.

Herp derp but Jimmy Savile's not here to defend himself (from all the rapes and fiddling with dead bodies).

Absolutely not.

Absolutely not.
So then we're in that tricky middle ground, because neither right is 100% enforceable in the public sphere.

Portia your better than that - That sleaze ball's image should be sent to hell where he is hopefully burning on a stake.

A 37-year-old man who taxied his light plane down the main street in the WA Pilbara town of Newman and parked it at a pub has been fined.
Anthony Philip Whiteway pleaded guilty in the Newman Magistrates Court to committing an act likely to endanger the life, health or safety of a person.
The plane had no wings, but its propeller had been running when it was taxied down the street earlier this month.
