I bought my 6 year old boy an ice cream (double choc, wafer cone). He promptly knocked the ice cream out of the cone, onto the middle of the ******* road ....
At almost exactly the same age I went to a deli in Naracoorte with a friend and bought a double vanilla cone. It cost me thrupence, an absolute fortune for me to have back then to spend as I chose. A stinking hot day and I somehow tipped it so both scoops plopped onto the hot footpath. If I had known the phrase "Lord why do you mock me!" I would have shouted it out. It haunts me to this day, as you can tell.

I picked it up, gave it a decent lick for hygiene purposes, and plonked it back in the cone. He was happy enough, I was happy to not fork out another $5. Mrs Holder didn't have to know about it.
good parenting/bad parenting?

Practical parenting, as well as excellent example of the ten second rule for your son. Kudos.

All good.

I never liked gardening until I bought my own place, I've been doing a lot of it since. That said, I'm on a back block so I feel less pressured since less people see my house.

I went to virginia nursery yesterday with a mate and it was pretty big and full of plants if i had to be honest.
I'm out the front or back most weekends doing something with the garden.
Planted a mandarin tree last weekend and thinking of a passion fruit creeper or two along a fence line.
It's a relaxing thing, it's serine to sit out the back and enjoy the view.
i'm less than half of 60 but i bought my own place a couple years back and now have a bit of pride in it. Gardening is for winners

Good for you.... I'm not happy with my Yuccas right now. Will be making way for some Bangalow's around my pool instead.

I would rather they call it 'Chiduckey' or 'Duchickey''...

I don't rate yukkas, they're nice in certain gardens though.
As someone said, at the moment it's more about trying to keep the grass from dying.
a tropical garden around a pool is a pretty ace look - could do a lot with it.

Of course I would have made the son lick it, but that's just me

Virginny has a nursery? Does the produce still come in tin foil like the old days?

ISIS sympathisers love Swiss chocolate, how about that.
Whoops, looks pretty serious actually. 2 gunmen supposedly and they've evacuated the sunrise studio.

Martin PL is a pretty iconic location in sydney. All the signs are there of a terrorist situation.

It's been a shit hole for ages.

I left there years ago.

Sydney is a beautiful city and a great place to live.

One shithead doesn't make Sydney a shithole.
