What are the chances that 13 people in a cafe in America have a gun on them? Who are willing to make the decision as honest citizens and risk other hostage's lives in order to be the vigilante?

It's pretty easy to just say 'hey, someone could have a gun on them so that means hostage situations are literally impossible' but it's not realistic.

He says it like it's something to brag about - we got through 24 hours without a licenced gun killing anyone! Not to mention the thousands of unlicenced guns which are floating around lower class areas being used for violence every day.

The fantasy they all share that says "if I was there I'd have prevented Sandy Hook/Columbine/Georgia Tech by engaging and killing/subduing them before anyone was so much as hurt I am a superhero" as a preferred reality to "if semi-automatic and fully-automatic weapons were restricted from the general public massacres of this magnitude simply would not occur" is truly bizarre.

Also wouldn't the chances of an escalation be much higher if someone in the cafe did have a gun? Sure, Average Joe might've got lucky and blitzed the bad guy, but then again maybe not.

So far no one has been hurt (physically) that we know of, so having no guns in untrained hands seems like a positive.

Every time my mother in law comes over she takes a shit. She'll often come over without notice so I have done my business. I can't use the toilet again until the cleaner comes in a Thursday so if she comes over on a Friday im ****ed.
