Let me guess, it's the big evil West's fault? Or the Jews?
People get religion backwards. Religion doesn't define people. People define religion.

Your friendly neighborhood Christian pastor is reading the same book as the IRA or the guys who murder abortion clinic doctors in the US.

The books are ambiguous as **** and effectively meaningless. People derive whatever meaning they want to derive and use the book to justify what they were going to do anyway.

Directing the blame at religion is no different from people who blame violent video games for mass shootings.

It would be a start. #airbornegnocchispookycreature

No idea what point you're trying to make there. People invented and perpetuate religion, of course they therefore define it. Religion isn't this separate thing floating off innocently somewhere. It's a name with give to certain patterns of thought and behaviour which persist due to indoctrination.

I agree that that is what religious moderates do. On the other hand there is a reason that extremists are also known as fundamentalists.

What? Video games are fiction, fantasy, play. I don't think the average religious person would be flattered by the comparison, assuming they actually believe what they purport to believe and hold that their religious practices have meaning.

Now that's a headscratcher.

These two are now 24 and share one hoo-haa. Do they interview a prospective boyfriend/husband by committee, or is it a case of "umm remember that time I agreed to go with you to the Belly Button Lint Museum in Wisconsin? i'm calling in my favour!"

My imagination is intoxicated.
Double the nagging for the same amount of fun.
Better if they had one head and 2 hoo-haas

I blame the written word. If writing had not been invented, neither would hate. We would still be living in prehistoric ignorant bliss

The written word had a lot more presence in the plus column before Abrahamic monotheism was a thing.

The toilet roll only appears to run out quicker towards the end - just use the same number of sheets as you usually do and it will last just as long

People count sheet numbers? Really?

Why do you think it's a 'thing'. It wouldn't be if they hadn't written it down when in exile.
The issue with the bible story is that it is one of fighting for freedoms and rights (which is good) but misinterpreted to be seen as at the expense of others.

So all that genocide that Moses committed at the behest of his god was just fighting for freedom which has been misinterpreted?

Wow.......

How many days before the footy starts?
Believe it or not.
This happens at least 4 to 5 times a year, even during the season proper.
