Everyone I know with a beard is constantly talking about their beards and sharing beard memes about how manly beards are and how girly everyone clean shaven is. I hate beards because of this, and I especially despise the bearded tattoo combo.

But at least you can shave a beard.

But ultimately why do they have to be a sign of rebellion?

I was just responding to your statement that "100% of people who have tattoos don't care what other people think about them in general" which is patently untrue, people with tattoos care in roughly the same proportion as people without.

The hypocrisy on this thread makes me laugh at times.

Lets lift the standard of this board coz some nicks people use are silly, done to death and boring, nek minnit dont judge people on their appearance.

I can't tell what you're arguing here

but obviously getting frustrated with the constant use of "Cat boy" and believing people can choose to present themselves however they like aren't really related issues

If I got a tattoo, I would get something I wanted and I wouldn't care if the bloke up the street (Eddie Dingle in this case) thought it looked a bit gay.

I would not be getting a tattoo for any sort of rebellious reasons.

I would probably care that my wife liked it

I wouldn't care if my best mate liked it.

etc

Judgement is judgement, no?

I don't think that's true. If tattoos have come anywhere in the past couple of decades, it's that they are absolutely positively not a sign of rebellion and IDGAF.

If I ever get my shit together enough to have half decent arms, I'll probably get a tattoo. But I'd like to think I'd choose wisely.

What's more acceptable to you:

1) Judging someone on how they look or
2) Judging someone on how they act?

I'll give you a clue, it's the latter.

It is entirely okay to judge somebody on how they act. For example, Hitler. Hitler was a bad guy because he was responsible for millions of deaths, not because of his moustache. Capiche?

Judgement is judgement, no?

Not even a little bit.

I don't care if the people using "cat boy" or "stupid" do so in their daily lives until their little hearts are content.

But having to read the same tired and boring shit in this thread every day was getting pretty annoying, so I said something about it.

How that compares to what someone wears or how they do their hair I have no idea.

That's nice.

Lots of people do get "fashionable, trendy" looking tattoos, they do care what people think, and they take great offence at anyone who thinks differently regarding their choices.

We have all done things we regret and outgrow, I just thank **** my mistakes weren't a chin to pubic piece, or a burning Aussie flag coupled with a few flaming 8 balls on my arm, that will be with me for life, or very painful and expensive to remove.

Or worse, a southern cross.

Firstly, whilst I appreciate your efforts to 'enlighten' me I dont need it, thanks. I can understand just fine when people are judging others and when they aren't. I dont particularly need your moral compass on what judgement is acceptable to me. And its not even the point of my post, Capiche?

I think people commonly get a bit mixed up on this point.

Generally people with tattoos don't care that you don't like their specific tattoo.

They do care that you feel the need to voice your opinion on the way they decide to look.

I mean how would the average person on the street came up to them and told them they had a terrible haircut and their clothes were stupid? They'd probably get a bit annoyed. But people with tattoos deal with this sort of thing pretty often, even in 2015.

You obviously dont understand my post. But thats ok, its my fault for not being clearer.

Its not about 'catboy' or 'stupid'. Its not about clothes or hairstyle. Its judgement. Simple as that.

I'd love to hear the point of your post then.

If I ever get a tattoo sleeve it's going to be the most ironic shit you can imagine.

An awful amalgamation of Maori tribal imagery, the Southern Cross, the Boxing Kangaroo, several Pokemon (one from each generation), le meme triforce, Walter White, a dripping cherry with the name of the girl who took my virginity, the old 'Port Power' logo, a Czechoslovakia flag because I'm like 1/1000th Czech or something, my mum's name, mandala art, pixel art, watercolour art, and whatever other style of tattoo art is 'hip' at the time.
