I am not religious.....

Science fundamentalists and religious fundamentalists can never admit they don't know. In the case of science that they may never know or can't know.

The only honest position is agnosticism. Science must accept (if it is possible to know all the answers eventually) that the answer MIGHT be God. Religion must accept that the answer MIGHT be no God.

That's the only position we are in, anything else is pure faith from either side.

All i believe is that we are by intelligent design...through what I have read and studied

A science fundamentalist (like a religious one) BELIEVES (and that's the key word here) that all will eventually be answered by science. It is potentially as fallacious as one who believes all will be answered by the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
It's not really hard to grasp the point that no ****er knows and whoever claims their side will get you the answers is just a liar.

I am writing to plead for a distraction from my family on Good Friday.

Don’t get me wrong, no one thinks it’s appropriate we celebrate the birth of the Easter Bunny more than me.

However, I firmly believe that a full day of talking to any group of people is not a day off.

At every other social event, I can usually turn on the TV and watch some football.

Same is true of theology but the fundamentalists on either side cause the issues, hence the term. Please don't try to pretend there aren't people who truly believe science has all the answers and won't be convinced otherwise nor be convinced that might not be the case.
