Jean Rasczak: Correct. Naked force has resolved more conflicts throughout history than any other factor. The contrary opinion, that violence doesn't solve anything, is wishful thinking at its worst. People who forget that always die.

So many reasons to love this movie.
You forgot Neil Patrick Harris!

+ Michael Ironside. Perfectly cast.

Miami Vice is the best TV show ever made. So ahead of its time, it is actually funny. Introduced so many concepts to TV production and presentation that still haven't been done better than what they were originally.

Those gear changes timed perfectly with the music... phwoar

I have never seen the Sopranos, but a mate showed me the ending the other day and asked me what I thought. I liked it! What do the people who actually watch it think? I understand it was a bit controversial?

First-person perspective. Cut to black silence = murdered by Members Only Jacket guy.

Yep, my mate explained it to me and that was his theory too. He reckons that the daughter failing to reverse park the car twice = 2 failed attempts on Tony's life also.

Final shot is not first person perspective though. It cuts to black on Tony's face.

From memory the bell rings (Meadow's entry) and Tony looks up, alluding to the previous first person shots when he looks up as someone walks in, but we don't get that again, instead we get the cut to black = shot at that moment, RIGHT IN FRONT OF MEadow

Yeah, nah. I mean obviously they want you to think that's a possibility, especially given all the previous allusions to it, but it's not open and shut like that. What always seems to be ignored by the assassination theorists is that there was actually no narrative justification behind Tony getting whacked at that point in the story. The hammer was coming down from the Feds, but the New York mob had been defeated. Blind, out-of-nowhere plot twists were not part of the show's raison d'etre. Creepy Member's Only dude is only creepy because of Tony's paranoia and the general portentousness of the scene as a whole.

Wasn't the guy who won the lottery, wasn't allowed to leave and then hanged himself wearing a Members Only jacket when he committed that hit in the diner? Read somewhere that he could've been a brother/brother-in-law gaining revenge by WEARING A MEMBERS ONLY JACKET AND COMMITTING MURDER IN A DINER #alanispls

That's one of the allusions I was referring to. Also Tony and Bobby's conversation in the boat.

And the recent hit in front of Sil at dinner, from the same angle, didn't hear it, only realised when the blood hit his face

It was no Blue Heelers.

Good lord Australia produces some of the most abject yet beloved television.
The only way I would have tuned in to that show was if they changed it to 'Blue Sheila's' and Lisa whatsherface de-kitted and took one in the paddy wagon.

Used to love the Sullivans as a kid and I am pretty sure I wouldn't have moved to Australia if it wasn't for Neighbours. That show was so huge in the UK, it filled the charts, it was shown twice a day was one of the highest rating shows for many years!
Australians I speak to can't comprehend how big it was! To teenagers in the late 80's and early 90's it was One Direction, Katy Perry, The Block, MKR AND fACEBOOK all rolled into one!

Wentworth goes against the grain of Australian TV, it kills. It's one of my favourites.
Prisoner Cell Block H was a cult classic for students. Only because it was the only thing on at 2 in the morning!

Blue Heelers!

What a saucy little town that was.

"Tonight, Mt. Thomas has joined the sad and worldwide fraternity of cities whose only membership requirement is to suffer the anguish of international terrorism."

Bit weird. As a government employee I just got inboxed the 'Magical May events' list...all your usual stuff, jazz, rock n roll, wine tasting, gourmet weekends etc and so forth. In amongst it all was Adelaide vs St Kilda. So either, we don't play at home in May...or that particular Crows home game is going to host something special?
The actual interesting part is that it is authorised by our former very own Hitaf Rasheed. Weird.
