I recently acquired a HQ to restore. Once, and it is a long way off, but once it is on the road, I'll be raiding the old man's tape collection.

Black Sabbath, T-Rex, Marc Boland, and The Sweet.

8 track surely? :p

Also don't forget Bon Scott Acca Dacca as well as some Deep Purple and Steppenwolf.

Would love some of that, but unfortunately the old man was more in to the glam rock styling of the time, rather than the more straightforward rockers.
Got some great Alice Cooper though!
And randomly, the Ennio Morricone collection.

Glam rock, well it was the 70s. Some Slade to go with Sweet, Alvin Stardust, Gary Glitter (try not to think of his extra-curricular activities) even some classic Melbourne suburban Skyhooks and Hush.

Speaking of glam rock, Rocky Horror is on SBS now.

Dunno..just something that popped into my head just before I wrote it. Has a sarcastica meaning...I tease my son along similar lines(he is the same age as you, loves heavy metal)
AH the old 'i was just pretending' line. GREAT MOVE I_D_C.

You should give hip hop a go. I was once suckered into thinking it was all a load of bollocks as an edgy heavy metal oriented man-boy. Then I listened to Illmatic.

Open mindedness is the best thing you can have when it comes to music. It is not too late I_D_C.

Ooh, forgot about Slade! Good call! Love Slade!

Mum was more in to the Skyhooks, Sherbert, and Hush.

Personally? Just pulling your leg. In the leg pulling thread

You wouldn't be the first person to react with aghast at me saying they aren't gods to me.

I'm in to bands that cop a lot of stick, AC/DC, Bon Jovi, and I deal with it, to each their own of course. But anyone dare tread on the toes of Led Zeppelin and be prepared to be met with a barrage of accusations about your mental health masculinity.

So i dropped a lazy tenna on rioli for most goals

40 seconds left in the game 6 people are tied on 2 goals.....including rioli....

20 seconds left in the game rioli misses a dolly handball into an open goal to become outright goal kicking leader of the night and sealing my bet.....

I was fuming my return in 20 seconds went from 260 bucks to around 40....

Until i logged on and full return was paid.......lololol

Ah Dylan...if you knew me you would know that humour and sarcastica spew from my mouth like a liquid mess from a milk filled lactose intolerant cat's anus. I have a wide interest in music, from country to some hip hop. I am not into 'heavy metal' per se, but more a heavy rock blues sort of interest. But I do not find rap interesting, other than the odd track over the years. Some hip hop is quite good musically, and I could make a TL;DR post on a range of music that has stimulated me, but I wouldn't read it so I won't

No I understand. Led Zeppelin are a blues oriented band, some people only tolerate parts of. Especially those who are heavy metal purists. AC/DC...I love them and grew up with them, but after Back In Black, I couldn't keep it up. I grew up worshiping KISS, but only recently started listening to them again after 25 years. When I tell people who are into metal that I disliked a lot of 80's metal, I get treated with disdain in much the same way as you described your dislike for Led Zep
