Warrior the one with Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton? If so, I wasn't ecstatic about it. Very slow. Good but not a martial arts classic.

Now, the original Kickboxer and Bloodsport...

Lol. I just watched those two movies in the last two days.

Warrior was a great drama with martial arts as the background. It's a solid story. Did it not win some awards? Brilliant acting by the dad, sad and beautiful.

Stallone was bigger than Schwarzenegger at that point in time, and had won best picture and best director awards. Talk about starting a career at the top.

Stallone can be surprisingly affecting when playing those "blue collar everyman" type roles. Shame he doesn't play them more often...

Creed looks good. MBJ looks spot-on as Apollo's son.

Loved Warrior...

Creed looks great, the trailer gives me goosebumps. Though Roxky doesn't fight, I'm sure he will throw s punch at some Cocky guy during the movie.

Apollos son actually initially used a different name in the movie.

I am considering the value of being emotionally attached to a football team.
Felt the same after the Carlton game. My anger and disappointment was disproportionate to something I have no control over the result of. Had I invested too much emotionally? I took stock, got a grip, stepped away from here for a few days. Missed watching the Sydney game to keep a commitment to someone else, when in the past I'd blown them off.
Then the events of the next day happened which have been covered here extensively.
I enjoyed today's game. The result wasn't what I wanted, there were too many campaigners around today, but the highs and lows of the game were more thrilling than a smashing. To me anyway. I can put up with mistakes, people are human.
In keeping with the theme of 80s cinema, some old campaigner in a Steve Martin movie tells him "I prefer the rollercoaster."

Stallone's best two films are the first Rocky and Copland I reckon

Really like Nighthawks with Billy Dee & Rutger, too...

Copland is a classic. He piled on the kilos for the role he portrayed.

What about that movie, Stop or my mother will shoot ? Lol

I actually thought Rocky Balboa is his best. I also love Rambo ie his last movie.

Did Crows supporters come on here and abuse?

Damn that's shit, fine do it on our Crows board, but classless to do it on someone else's after a win

I hate Port and love cracking jokes about your Club. The rivraly is great, but it should never get physical or illegal,or abusive at the ground. Also it shouldn't happen on your board, the Port board like all clubs hoards should be a safe haven for local supporters,

For me the win was about my club healing and being happy gain and moving forward.

You've said this like 40 times blud we get it

First Blood and Rambo IV unfortunately get lumped in with the 80s cheesy middle 2 films, but are also good movies on their own.

Have to have a tolerance for violence in part 4 though. Brutal.

With the roles Stallone turned down, he could've been one of the biggest stars ever.

I have no idea what you're getting at.

I would be keen to see where I have mentioned this before on your board as you claim 40x. The comment was extending about Crows supporters being banned so I gave the comment some context which was relevant otherwise it comes across as random remark which posters will naturally ask me to extend on my thoughts.

First Blood is a pretty cool film actually, I couldn't give a rats tool bag for the rest of the Rambo films though

Mickey Rourke knocked back the role of Axel Foley before Stallone. Rourke also knocked back the Bruce Willis role of Butch in Pulp Fiction. Mickey doesn't always make good decisions. :drunk:

Brian Dennehy in a non tele-movie role probably the zenith of his mediocre career

Brian Dennehy was in every movie made in the 1980s. It's true.
