I still have the original teenage mutant ninja turtles on vhs...

The one which mc hammer sings....T...U...R...T...L..E. POOWER....

Over and over...

I wish we still had cool video game arcades. Still around in other cities but we don't have any good ones left here in adelaide do we?

One of these days I'm gonna get around to checking out GameRoom Essentials.

Bit of a kerfuffle when it shut down earlier in the year but it's since reopened in Craigmore.

Oh, shit, they've got Rampage... I'm there!

Thrill of the chase is gone huh.. weird movies, rare albums, odd books most things are a mouse click away & "free" on the most part.

Got some awesome stuff from Vinnie's and the Salvo's... until they got wise.

No more 70s adidas jackets for $3 or 1983 America's Cup winning t-shirts for 50c...

I thought, great I'll take my kids! But this annoyed me so much that I don't want to go there now.

Monday to Friday Gaming Sessions
3.30pm-5.30pm - Kids & Adults $10

For $10 for adults and $10 for children under 15, you get unlimited gaming FOR 2 HOURS!!! Keep the kids entertained and feed your inner child with retro gaming. This is our budget session and aimed at keeping the kids entertained after school. And with Adults at Kids prices, why wouldn't you join in too?!

Surely a typo?? WTF would be he point of actually advertising 'under 15' haha

I've got the 88 premiership somewhere on VHS. My dad recorded it.
I think I've got all the sanfl premierships from '77 to '99 on vhs in the shed somewhere.
I was living in London from 94-96 and had my mum record every bit of televised Port Adelaide, including from sports sections of the news each night. She'd fill up a tape and post them over about once a month and I had to find a friendly pom to let me take over their tv for about three hours (always seemed to live in houses with no video) They're all still in the shed as well.

I've also still got Wrestlemania 1 on beta hiding somewhere in the shed.

****ing big space wasting boxy pieces of crap - don't even have a video player any more

My brother has put all the VHS recordings on YouTube of the early 90s adds.

Did you guys ever have "Soccer! It's hot!" over there?

And the old GTS BKN action movie night.

My dad also used to let us rent NES games from the video shop on staurday, then they would be closed Sunday, so we got an extra night for free!

The arcade on the Santa Monica Pier has an old school Super Mario Bros (like the original NES game) arcade machine. Loved it when I went there.

I'd love one of those for my house. Or a NBA Jam cabinet. Though a Rampage one would be nice too.

Would play that bad boy for hours on Friday nights after footy training while dad smashed 10 pints. I want to go to that place but I'm worried the games won't live up to my 10 yo memories.

Was going through the parents record collection the other day, I've got that bad boy on vinyl.

Recently stumbled across a Double Dragon machine in some fish'n'chip shop.

Lost. Mah. Shit (even if it did cost $1 a game instead of 40c.)

Now, when I was 14, I could clock this game by myself.

This time, I couldn't even get past the first stage.

Shellshocked. Just stared at "Game Over" flashing on the screen. WTF just happened?

Anyway, it was still awesome even if I sucked big hairy balls...

Brilliant. Was at a house last year and the person had a mortal combat machine, I couldn't even get anyone to "get over here" :(

I have an arcade machine in my lounge...classics like Galaga, 1941, Pacman, Frogger, Donkey Kong etc etc. 60 classic games!

Awesome. My mate's got one of those machines. Once in a blue moon he throws a piss-up. Women and children out the back. All the blokes in the man-cave playing/standing around the arcade, drinking beer and talking absolute shit...

My wrist (shifty eyes) was cramping up from button mashing the first time I used it after I had the old Italia 90 (not working) board taken out and the new one put in.

On a related note, It seems like that they've started putting time limits (5 minutes) on air hockey tables.

Was wondering what was going on when the air stopped when we were tied at 3-3.

My IT teacher told us that betamax was superior in every way, but VHS recorded slightly quicker, less delay after hitting record. The army ordered all VHS for their purposes, and that gave VHS a leg up that it used to win the war.

Anyone here able to verify that?
Not as far as I know, this guy sums it up pretty well:

Bastards! Is nothing sacred? Air hockey at Marion if you turn up in plenty of time for a movie is great.

pr0n....with VHS cheaper tape manufacturing and longer tape space and the great pr0n boom watching pr0n in your home transitioning from dingy seedy movie theatres and booths virtually over night sealed Betas fate
