Watson's retirement announcement, just before the mike fell over and despite his efforts, hit him in the leg.

Whoever came up with that must work with lab animals. Surprised there isn't a little trough for "baby chow".

San Diego Chargers it is mofo's.

The major selling point that I found was their theme song sounds very disco and probably sung by The Village People (truly worth a full listen).

Anyway, thanks for all of you advice on team selection which I have duly disregarded, carn the mighty Chargers!!!

This bloke played for them and made it big in California, 20 years before the Hayne Plane landed

Ahhh, Darren Bennett one of our greats being a hall of famer.
During his career Darren had 836 punts for a total of 36 316 yards gained.
Darren currently coaches high school kickers and punters in San Diego and mentors High School, NCAA and NFL players.

I was going to suggest these guys for you Jumbo. I reckon you would enjoy a beer with them watching 'your' team together.

FFS REH that dead set rocks, I might have to re-assess my team, I'll give it 24 hours to mull it over.

I sent that to a couple of people at the club 2 years ago and said this is what we have to do with all our supporter groups around Oz, because just like Pittsburgh people left the rust belt in the 1970's and 1980's, Port people left SA and took their love for the club. Port has the biggest percentage of their supporters living outside their home state. We are the only side with less than 80% of their supporters in their home state - 77%. Im not a Steelers fan but I respect what they and their fans do.

Well if you change your mind, you can learn to speak Pittsburghese. An NFL Films Presents doco from a few years ago about Steeler Nation

You can't pick the Steelerrs, Packers or Patriots.
That's like going for a Big 4 team.

Now the Bears, there's a team with history, a working class pedigree and just shit enough that you won't be seen as a bamdwagoner.

Wait, someone needed an NFL team to follow and they didn't choose the Patriots?

Agree, this with Packers and Steelers are the soft options.

When I think of the Bears, I have 2 images - hard arse coach Mike Ditka and William The Refrigerator Perry.

It's pretty sad what happened to the fridge
Yes it was very sad. Almost died a couple of times and left destitute. Its what Players Association should be all about, to help blokes handle the transition from the glory days to normal life. And The Fridge being 300 pounds at high school meant he had a long glory day period and his health was always going to suffer. Pretty sure he hit 400 pounds when things were going really poorly.

And one of the best backs of all time in Walter Payton.
The monsters of the midway.
You get to give shit to those strange people who support the Packers.
You are just good enough that every season matters, but not quite good enough to be a glory boy.

And if you are of a certain age, you know the 80's was the best for sport and you'll remember the SNL sketch.

DA BEARS!
