Bloody hell, first time I've watched the Wallabies play this World Cup and I have a question for anyone who has watched other games.

Have they been as frustrating to watch for the whole campaign or is it just this game?

Rugby League supporters must hate Rugby Union World Cup, because it enables "non Rugby" people a chance to see how vastly superior the Union version is.
It must be like listening to none rugby commenting on the teams performance when they know SFA.

There is absolutely no physiological reason women couldn't play in mens cricket. Saying anything to the contrary is severely underrating modern women.
Can't hit the ball far enough. Can't bowl fast enough. If you can't bat or bowl I'm not sure how you get a regular game.
Same goes for soccer.
So you didn't watch the Womens World Cup then... I'd be curious to see how Hope Solo goes in the MLS or A-league, but the rest, don't bother.

You have to be kidding!
Surely you are kidding!

The Poms bombing out made it look much easier, but yeah, being in the other side of the Kiwis, Yarpies, French and Welsh makes things a whole lot rosier.

We've now beaten England, Wales and Scotland so it's not exactly been an easy waltz through.

To be honest I didn't even know League existed before migrating to Australia. That abomination shouldn't be allowed to be called Rugby.

Kids, kids. Calm down. Both of your sports are equally awful.

Nobody will beat NZ anyway.
Yes, they are on a whole higher level than any other team. Australia was never going to play NZ in a semi so their path to the final is a tough as everyone's. You could argue that Argentina should be easier than South Africa, but Argentina beat South Africa in Durban in August for the Rugby Championship.

I like both, but as a spectator sport league pisses all over union.

The amount of rule changes union have had to bring in since professionalism and the issues it still has it testament to it, its become more and more like league every year and is unrecognisable from 10-12 years ago even, especially as a player.

Yeah, nah. You still need brains to play/watch Union, which are optional for League.

I'm with schulzenfest on this for the most part, but this common argument by union supporters is unsubstantiated trash.

A sport being more complicated certainly doesn't make it better.

League is significantly more watchable and union fans arguing that it's "dumb" is as moronic as fans of both rugby codes arguing AFL football is soft to try to justify their sport's lower skill level.

Every year I try to watch the League GF. And every year I think "surely I can enjoy this, if so many do". And every year I turn the TV off after 10 minutes thinking that I'd need a lobotomy to enjoy it. Clearly not my thing.

I get that. I don't get how you think union is any different

What a load of tripe.
Why do you need brains to watch kick - lineout - penalty? And not for hit ups, scoots and 40/20's?

Having played both to a decent level I can assure you that the thought processes in league are far quicker, more subtle and with a greater outcome around the field.

You don't need any knowledge to watch union and the crowd types testify to that, look at club rugby compared to internationals. Its almost Sheffield shield differences.

The only reason I can think of the need for extra brain power in union is the ridiculous rules and rule changes.
