*Angus is an icon I'm just over AC/DC, it's more when a band morph's into basically a brand name with uber success for me I always switch off, seems to lack inspiration and musical validity to me... The Stones and U2 leave me colder than AC/DC though, anyhoo every album up until and including BiB are classics that's a mighty effort.

he still goes alright old angus, first time seeing acdc and was just as expected. highlight was dirty deeds (and no isis), bloody hell that sounded good. i found when they played one of their new songs and i didnt know it it was a touch boring as it is all the same, but the classics were awesome. bloody loud too. liked the hives, singer went on a bit but i like quite a few of their songs, kingswood were meh.

I think all the new songs they chose to play were really good, especially Rock or Bust, that could fit it on any album.

Recently announced that he's getting a band together to play Deep Purple and Rainbow songs. I wish he could've done this while Dio was alive though.

Me too. I don't mind reunions If they're done the right way, for the right reasons. Greg Ginn's current incarnation of Black Flag came to Australia but they look and sound terrible. FLAG however is the real deal. Didn't know about Dez, that's real shitty.
I would kill to see a Jello fronted Dead Kennedys but it'll never happen, and Jello's current band is great anyway.

Damn, that was an awesome concert last night, although the guy in front was that pissed that numerous times nearly headbutted me. My ears feel blocked and at least the ringing has now stopped. I my body thanked me for standing still for 4 hours by giving me a excruciating leg cramp during the night.

My only problem was that Angus' guitar was too loud, to the point it started distorting and Brian Johnson's mic needed to be turned up a bit more.

Aside from a pointless retcon of James Bond's childhood, Spectre is pretty cool.

It was quite a watchable film, but probably worse than Quantum of Solace for mine.
Tried to obviously cram all the material from the 5th film into this one as Craig doesn't want to do another Bond film.
In the end it just felt really jumpy and disconnected, needed 2 movies to properly flesh Blofeld out as a character. Instead he comes across as one of the most lame and pointless villains of all the Bond movies (Diamond face Korean dude from Die another day included).

Agree Blofield was weak and pointless, nothing on Donal Pleasence. Bautista was a great henchmen though and that train fight was a great homage to Russia with Love.

I would put this above Skyfall, the last act of Skyfall, a quiet showdown in an abondonned house in the middle of nowhere, didn't feel very Bond.

I still haven't seen Quantum, heard bad things and hate shaky cam movies, should I give it a go?

Thing about Spectre is, it was good until

Bond is caught/walks into trap and Blofeld gives him the whole exposition of nasty plot, tortures him and explains how he hated Bond because his dad taught him to ski instead. Then claims credit for everything in the previous movies. But even that could babe l have been done well, instead it was just "oh that was me..."

It becomes a spoof from that point.

Bond literally gets drilled in the head, TWICE, somehow gets his bomb watch off, blows the place up, escapes while shooting everyone perfectly. Skip forward, he is given the chance to rescue Damsel in Distress, which he does with just one second to spare, then shoots down a helicopter with a pistol from a boat, which crashes neatly so he can walk up and choose to _not_ kill Blofeld.

Cheesy and corney. It's like tuna mornay.

Part of me hopes that Bond 25 starts with

that last third of Spectre wasn't just a hallucination and Bond is still sitting in Blofeld's chair with a dozen drill holes in his head having imagined the whole thing.

That's not too say it wasn't enjoyable, in fact it was a ripping movie, but on par with QoS (which I still thought was ok).

For the record, i thought Skyfall was great, if not slightly cheapened by the Home Alone scenario in the closing act.

Javier Bardem was too good a villain, which I think was to the detriment of Christopher Waltz's Blofeld this time round.

I love Bill too, however my favourite punk drummer of all time is Chuck Biscuits. He was only with Black Flag long enough to record one demo but it's amazing.

I've always held the belief that it's actiually Bill who plays on these demos. It certainly sounds like Bill, and believe me, I have truly studied his style for years. I also heard some years ago that the "real" '82 demos with Biscuits on drums are still hidden away somewhere in Greg Ginn's vault, as he didn't want them to see the light of day without him being able to make money off them, so was happy to pass these off as the '82 demos. Apparently, according to former roadie Tom Trocolli, there's an albums worth of recorded material with Biscuits on drums that's still never seen the light of day. My belief is that over time this recording has has been passed off as those songs and the legend just grew.
The songs here also fit the timeline of Stevenson being in the band, and knowing his drumming I refuse to believe this isn't him.
