The crushing letdown that was that rapidly congealing cinematic load is why I could not give AF about the forthcoming films, Lucas or nay. It's as if he sucked up all that is good about the world and ushered in the era of Global Financial Crises, ISIS and the post-Lithgow seasons of Dexter.

I'm not a Star Wars nut but I loved the original. It was the first "cool" film my dad took me to see at the cinema in 1977. I reckon we saw it at the Regent Arcade Cinema from memory.

He had a car crash that required significant reconstructive surgery. They tried to sort of, write it into the script by making the wampa scene on Hoth where he got a bit thrashed up to account for his change in facial features.

From what I've read about it, the botched reconstructive surgery, and botched attempts at correcting same, were more responsible for the end of his on-screen career than the accident.
