Anyone else feel the whole quasi-nazi aspect to the First Order a bit strong.
It seemed a bit generic here's some space-nazi's.

With their red banners behind the guy making the speech their black officer uniforms and the hand raised salute.

My mate made the same point when the first trailers came out. "This has been done to death", fair point.

Wow, Kylo was miscast.

I was beginning to think he was a good antagonist for the movie but the second he removed his helmet and saw his face and heard his voice all intimidation and his intensiveness just vanished

Between this, Beasts of No Nation and the new Mad Max it's been a great year.

They all have that feel that not many movies do these days, hard to explain, Apocalypse Now-ish where the atmosphere just sucks you in. Shot in harsh conditions, no shortcuts or green screens, only natural lighting in the case of The Revenant. The actors are actually put to work and you can feel it in their performance. Watching The Revenant and BoNN is exhausting.
Yep, atmosphere makes a movie, for me it's almost more important than the plot itself.. will have to keep an eye out for these movies.

2001: ASO, The Proposition, The Hunter, Apocalypse Now (of course), Mad Max: Fury Road all films I personally loved for the mood/world they created.

No way, it is the 2 best and most experienced saber duellists going toe to toe. It's amazing. In parts it gets silly, in terms of standing on droids, but the actual saber choreography is great, and you still sense the emotion and trauma in the actors.

Obi, such a bipolar Jedi.

There are better sword fighters in the galaxy than Obi and Anikan, Dooku and yoda's fight would of beenthe best and most experienced sabre duelists going toe to toe.

I'm a fan of the prequel duels but the battle between Vader and obi is boring.

Right?!

If I want to watch movies in the dark with strangers I'll tend the gloryholes at my local boobliothèque just like every other wednesday

I don't like people enough to go to cinemas. It's the same with public transport.

**** you all.

****ing scum.

God what if one of them touches me?

Shopping centres in lower socioeconomic areas like Norwood are my worst nightmare.

Cinemas... I don't sit that closely to people I like.

You people make me sick.

That is the point to an extent.

Camrips are the only true way to experience films. You wouldn't understand you uncultured swine.
Funny comment on the new Star Wars camrip

Great release! Very watchable. Fun audio blooper at 25:18 : in welsh accent "sorry to bother you but we have gotten reports someone might be recording this ... I don't want to point any fingers ... "

lol

I loved Kingsman: The Secret Service. Lin Firth was tremendous.

There are certain movies which you just have to see in the cinema in 3D to get the same effect of scale and grandeur.

Not seeing the big issue here, if and when it releases to a digital store in 6 months I may rent/buy it but I dont particularly enjoy the cinemas.
It's not a slate against the almighty Star Wars its just personal preference.

As for why Im watching it, I work with a bunch of 50 year olds and over and all they have been talking about this week is this movie.
I may as well give it a try.
You are stealing it. Can they afford it? Yes, but it's still theft.

As you pointed out, the cost would be around 100 dollars. Would you normally steal 100 dollar items?

That is the point to an extent.

Exactly.

Ren is meant to be a slightly pathetic tryhard. That's what psychologically compels him to kill Han. "They think I'm not a badass? I'll show them badass."

I reckon Adam Driver was perfectly cast, I just wish I'd never seen him in Girls because it took me a sec to not see Kylo as a whinging New York hipster

I thought that's what they intended him to be like?
