Yea the amount I've left somewhere or lent to people that I've never seen again would number quite a few too but everything is a mouse click away in lossless format these days so care factor zero.

I'm guessing the only CD's that hold much value are limited pressings, the gold disc audiophile stuff etc etc.

*I do look after everything i ever bought on the Yazoo label & other now defunct blues & jazz labels, I'm never gonna find Blind Willie Johnson & the early delta guys on original 78's so I'm glad labels like Yazoo exist.

CD's are great for stuff like cramming a band's entire discography on one easy to carry around, play anywhere format. That's pretty much what I use them for. I doubt I'd have many CD's where I don't already own the stuff on vinyl. And it allows me to preserve the vinyl by playing it on the CD instead.

mine drops back down to silver at the end of february, barring some insane unexpected travel in the next month

gold was a nice one off reward of a crazy start to 2015, but its back down to schlepping it with the likes of you in silver again.

Ill bring the hand sanitizer
Silver's more edgy anyway, and at the very least we can still lord our status over the lowly bronze subclass

I have CD's too, but they get treated like shit, thrown around in the car etc. Most have damaged covers. My records on the other hand all live inside individual plastic slip covers.
CD's, DVD's etc. I don't bother with these days. I will say though that for books I'll take the physical kind over Kindle or the like every day of the week. Full bookcases are the nerd equivalent of the shed full of tools. Plus take along a Kindle or the like to get signed by authors and it makes it harder to read stuff subsequently.

Does anyone own a VCR?
Does anyone own one deliberately is more the question. We bit the bullet two years ago and ditched the old one that had just been sitting there. Had the tapes of the kids transferred onto DVD and that was it.
I'm not aware of any retro VCR admiration like there is for records now. I'm not going to say vinyl, they were always just records.

Real books are the only way to go the feel of the paper that new book smell oh the little fingerprints left in an engrossing page the bookmark collections. We spend all day with technology its calming to sit back with a nice book and fade away.

I think hard copy books are the next vinyl records.

I love the look, feel, and smell of books but love the convenience of ebooks.

So I buy and read the ebook, but look out for second hand copies of the same (one reason why I have 2 copies of Catch-22) to stock the bookshelf.

David Foster Wallace is to thank for my migration to ebooks.

I'll get e-books for work / learning, but fiction always the real thing.

Windu being a powerful Jedi is important because it shows just how powerful Palpatine had become that he could sucker him in and manipulate him to win Anakin over once and for all.

But Windu beating him and Anakin being there in the room by coincidence and deciding to save a helpless Palpatine cheapens the entire story. Not only that, it doesn't explain how the scene was acted. It's pretty obvious on the face of it that Palpatine was in control of the situation the entire time. That was the way the scene was written and acted.

It's just a dumb scene and doesn't make sense if Windu actually beat him, and would have killed him with that last strike. Palpatine was in full control.

Vaapad and Shatterpoint aren't particularly interesting and i'm not aware of either of them being mentioned in the films. The fighting styles are just one of many factors in a light v dark lightsaber battle and it's not really interesting or relevant, given how important the event is to the entire 6 (now 7) film series.

Look, it's possible that despite what you clearly see acted that Windu actually beat him fair and square, but that cheapens everything about the scene, and everything about the Sidious and Vader relationship and dark side power which goes from there until the end of ROTJ.
If you don't care about or understand shatterpoint vapaad...I cant help you understand why mace beat him...

But at the end of the day I don't have too ..GL said it...

And I didn't say he beat him fair and square I just said he beat him....mace had 3 other Jedi which palps dispatched with ease
