Do you really feel thats true? Do you think the moderators should be doing a better job? In what way can we make this place more inclusive as it used to be?

There are always two sides to a story, but people are allowed to call out other peoples posts, and on this forum 99% of the time it's done in a reasonable manner which is in line with most other well moderated internet forums i.e not personal abuse but a counter arguement of some kind.

The issue comes when someone makes an unpopular opinion and multiple posters who may be of like mind but not necessarily known to each other in real life make counter arguements and it appears that the OP is being ganged up on, which is true but not in the sense they may feel (i.e a clique). The thing is, if you wish to have an opinion of any kind - be prepared to back it up just as anything you say in life.

The Gayle one was she walked in whilst thinking no one was there. Gayle again is a dick, but person alone in change room walked in on unexpectedly by someone of the opposite gender. No excuse for his actions, but even dickheads would have the expectation you can change uninterrupted.

I seem to be in a small minority of being a fan of Voltaire - say your shit and I may be offended, which is fine, just don't get all uppity if what I say offends in return and try to impose a whole extra structure of rules over a forum that's worked (on the whole) smoothly for over a decade due to the likes of yourself and the other moderators here.

Lately I've given thanks I work in the Private sector rather than the sheltered workshops of government where I'd be exposed to this litany of thought police on a regular basis.

For a club that prides taking shit from others and letting our actions do the talking there's a hell of a lot of running to mum to make the other kids stop saying bad things recently.

Alcohol does not hijack your moral compass, but is a symbol that gives people a social licence to behave in an uninhibited way.

If alcohol alone made people violent, we would expect to find similar levels of violence spread evenly across the full range of drinkers from post-menopausal librarians to young male rugby players, but we don't. We would also expect to see an equal incidence of violence in all societies and, again, we don't.

Alcohol is a de-inhibitor. It's not the only cause, but remove it / reduce its use (at least amongst under 25's) and there'd be a lot less violence. You can add in a disproportionate number of the dicks come from single parent and/or low socio-economic backgrounds, but I'll only whisper that as it's not PC to say it shouldn't be so easy for everyone to have kids.
