The music snobbery of those who were into the 3 chord punk scene of the 80's I always find amusing and highly unjustified.
Dead kennedys are the greatest punk band of all time.

This is fact.

5/6 easily.

Have never been on the Minor Threat bandwagon.
Well I never, thought you where a straight edger from way back.

Fugazi where better in my opinion but I'm sure others will disagree.

Where have all the flowers gone

I took time to stop and smell the flowers yesterday.

They smelled like sweaty anus.

I won't be doing that again in a hurry.

Fugazi I love.

Guitar solos are for noobs like JimmyBeerCarns
Nah they allow for great air guitar parodies like this great one by Bradley Cooper of Neil Young's Down by the River.

yeah but then corgan would be this hero god like 'legend' whose music was soooooo important wanko rubbish like they did with the other chap. at least now corgan is an irrelevant nobody with a couple of 'ok' songs 20 years ago.
I wish Billy Corgan did what Cobain did. Hate.

I enjoyed Zeitgesit which is only 8 years old

I try to battle against my prejudices. As a kid I hated rap or hip-hop on principle, and needed a group of white boys to convince me it could be pretty cool (The Beastie Boys). I later found out how much I was missing. I quite like it these days, though not an avid listener.

One of my biggest prejudices was against Rush. I hated those ridiculously big drums which for a Ramones fanatic always seemed so unnecessary. :D I tried to give them a chance last year but still not convinced. Maybe I listened to the wrong songs.

Stick to your Ramones guns mate.

Question, as a Ramones fanatic myself, I've always preferred the more complex, hard rock style 80s era, than the punk era of the 70s. I feel like, as a fan, I'm definitely in the minority.

Then again, I also like Paul D'iano as the Maiden vocalist.

They smelled like sweaty anus .....
There was a young girl from Australia
Whose arse was tattooed with a dahlia
The colour was fine
Likewise the design
But the aroma, ah that was a failure

no one comes close to the sex pistols - they basically created the punk movement = nooooooooooooooooooooooo future
Blah sex pistol just made punk popular, the last thing it needed.

hello is on of the greats, Jonny has nothing on him!

Manufacture punk rock, one album wonder.

Johnny Rotten went on to do some sort of progressive synth music after they broke up, very punk indeed.

So what if they were put together they were still a bunch of poor kids & their songs certainly were not manufactured by mouth McLaren.

I've heard so many definitions of 'punk' over the years I've forgotten what it actually means.
Three chord garage rock with attitude that was done better a decade earlier than so called "punk" anyway lol
