I agree. The idea he was some genius puppet master is pretty ridiculous. He was a savvy, sleazy businessman who knew how to exploit opportunity. Matlock was part of the Cook, Jones gang too, then McLaren sacked him for a miscreant who couldn't play the bass.....at all. Purely for image.

Jones is actually a very good guitarist, and the sound he got on Never Mind The Bollocks was quite phenomenal. The opening chords of Holidays In The Sun.....

Didn't Matlock get sacked for "liking the Beatles"?

This song got a run in the mainstream media this week due to the story of a pommy chap committing suicide and have no personal history to speak of.

Is it Richey?

Love the Manics, they were the sound of my time in Uni. Ironically the best concert I saw them play was in Sydney. I think I went from the back to the front crowd surfing about 5 times!

Yeah, ripping band.

car chases and jerking off have never been a fetish for anyone i have ever known. tarantino is a strange cat though and one of the hardest people to listen to in an interview as he is so narcissistic

I don't think it was literal... Well maybe it is for him, but compared to American cars films and American nudity, the Aussie films of the 70s and 80s have a very distinctive look and feel. It is unique, maybe even better. Lets bring it back.

Gee a lot of history rewriting going on - I was in London as an 18yo - the Pistols and the punk scene were 'real' - the influence of that brief punk uprising is still having influence today.

And? Nobody said it wasn't real, but the fame of the Sex Pistols was commercial, which was anti-punk. I remember talking with people who were into that scene who were disgusted with the commercialism that punk had become...it was now fashion and not a statement. Like every underground music scene, manufactured 'pop' always capitalises on it. From punk to metal to grunge

Ya gotto eat

Just south of the rocks is a little city called Sydney.

There is one or two nice little places to grab a bite.
Have they got a Hungry Jacks? I've heard their burgers are really good
Well nevermind then, I just thought some people who live in the city could let me know some nice places to eat.

Where do you want to go? Near the rocks or further into the city? What, type of food do you like? American? Thai? posh?

Now don't be so sensitive.

You really have to narrow it down a bit though it's a fairly big place compared to Radelaide.

What sort of food are you looking for and what time of day are we talking? How much money do you want to spend.

I mean really...

Yeah im not used to the size of Sydney it boggles my mind you cant walk one end of the CBD to the other in less than 30 minutes.

Italian and American is my favourite, Ill be mostly walking and using uber.

I know I can google places in the area but a lot of positive reviews are always written by friends and family of the owner/managers

.... The Sex Pistols were essentially the punk rock Monkees.
That's exactly it! What an excellent description
And FWIW I don't have a problem with either of those bands - the concept worked well both times, but understandably only briefly.

If you like Texan barbecue there is a place in Surry Hills, Jazz City in Goulbourn Street, don't go too late as it sells out of the BBq food (brisket, corn bread etc.).

Just for burgers for a decent price for near the rocks, there is a pub/cafe just past the four seasons as you walK up George Street. They have black pudding hot dogs and chips cooked in duck fat...nice and good value.

I reckon TripAdvisor is a pretty good guide. There are always the odd few extreme opinions at either end but the majority have always been pretty close to the mark in my experience.

Going through the city on the bus and this group of cyclists took up the whole bus lane 4 across. Also ran multiple red lights.
I mean, I'm all for these cyclists but obey our f***ing road rules!
Why would they it's not like they have a license or demerit points to lose.
Only chance of getting a fine is if a patrol car sees them.

Firmly in the, bikes should have rego plates and it be linked to your drivers license camp.
