That thing is a work of art! Disturbing, but strangely compelling: I could contemplate it for hours. The meaning of life is hidden in there somewhere.

Yeesh, that's good to know, just had an interview with the housing trust, apparently the manager of the southern branch gave us the ok to live here but was overruled by higher ups on monday afternoon, instead of 12 weeks to find a new house it's 8 weeks because it's backdated to the day mum passed away. They might give us an opportunity to buy the house from them but would probably need a stupidly high deposit.

Best of all, the new tenants will most likely be "users". To think all the hard work we have put into this house over the 18 years all to have some scum meth-head come and most probably wreck it, Ok we might be trust tenants but we always took pride in our house.

Over that 18years, with the rent you paid would have paid for that dwelling twice over. Homeloans have been paid out before 18years. having said that, you should be given the right to own the home outright. If that was me in your position, i would leave some going away fixes.

So I heard through the rumour mill tonight that Oscar Bernardi (Cory's son) plays for North Adelaide U18s, and is relentlessly being picked on by the other North lads for his dad being a piece of shit.

I kinda hope he comes out as gay.

This story is not plausible.

As he would have some minor celebrity status because his dad, rightly or wrongly, is famous most kids his age would be sucking his baws to hang out with him.

I hope all kids come out as gay.

Is ball sucking the fist sign of gayness.

Backed a horse called Portonian yesterday.

Mount Barker in WA. Race 6 number 6.

Was paying $9.

I thought hey that's worth a lobster.

Kaching.

Profit.

I think the plan to phase out Negative gearing is a good one. If they straight up got rid of it today there would be a pretty substantial crash in the market.

I think a crash will happen anyway since home loans plus overpriced houses is a recipe for disaster, but perhaps this will help.

On the ABC Finance Report last night they showed a graph of the supposed over pricing of housing in the capital cities. Melbourne was more than 20% overpriced while Adelaide was just over 2% under-priced.

Edit: Found the graph

That's the same with many things.

Groceries are cheaper and better quality in wealthier suburbs at Coles and Woolies because the clientele are more discerning and are willing and able to travel to buy better/ cheaper elsewhere.
The Foodland advert about how Norwood is their cheapest branch shits me for this reason.

Haha watching Jack Irish on ABC and there are a lot of Fitzroy Footy Club references throughout the series.

He books a busty blonde hooker for a 9am booking at home. He is eating cereal and he says they can set up in the living room. She says she can do a strip for him and to find some music. He goes thru his record collection and finds the Fitzroy club song and puts that on and she looks perplexed, but then starts dancing to it.

Then he gets to the real reason he booked her, she was a witness to guys who tried to kill him, has a conversation and tapes it as back up as she says she wont go to the cops as the guys will kill her. I love how the show gets in lots of little Fitzroy references, especially the 3 old boys who are always in sitting at the bar.

Haha and a couple of scenes later a sculptor friend (Claudia Karvan) of Jack Irish meets him at the bar and the 3 old boys talk to her about building a sculpture of Jack's old man who played for Fitzroy to put it up at the Brunswick St Oval. Very clever writing.

Haha yeah there's a heap of Fitzroy references in those movies. The old blokes at the bar make me laugh, especially when they're always watching Fitzroy's last game on VHS, even though they got belted. The bar tender tells them that he got a call from the Brisbane Lions and that they wanted to take some of the Fitzroy memorabilia up there. They got all riled up.

Quit my job a while back, last day today.

Staff bought me some Penfolds wine from the suburb of Grange which is weird because I thought they were at Magill??? And some nice wine glasses and a thing that must be for slowing horses down (decanter???).

But then they present a third gift and it's finally something worthy of my attention...

Travis Boak autographed footy boot in a presentation case with some turf and some other shit.

I blew.

The constant Fitzroy references are interesting given that Peter Temple, author of the Jack Irish novels, is a South African who was close to 40 when he moved to Melbourne.

I haven't read the Jack Irish novels, I've only seen the tele-movies and am now watching the series, but The Broken Shore and Truth by Peter Temple were good reads.
