i like conor mcgregor but that diaz fight was extremely disappointing

he just doesn't have that never say die warrior spirit that you need in mma. he's more of a chael sonnen. talks a big game but when it comes down to it he takes the easy way out. they're both very smart (for mma fighters at least) and know how to brand themselves and make money

especially for an irishman i expected him to be a scrapper. but as soon as things aren't going his and he takes a couple of solid hits, he shoots for a takedown to avoid getting knocked out.

compare that to mark hunt, a junior dos santos, wanderlei silva, fedor, lawler etc. these guys will just come back swinging for the fences and go out on their shield if they have to.

i don't buy that. yes, nate was slightly heavier, but he also wasn't training for a fight.

nate is lightweight. when he moved up to ww he got destroyed. with that said it's extremely ballsy of conor to move up and i admire that. but he went up one weight class, not two.

conor was one of (if not) the biggest fws out there. it's not a huge jump for him to fight a guy nate's size.

he simply wilted under pressure

Takes the easy way put? Sonnen put Anderson Silva through the most punishment of his career and then was cheated out in the second fight! In between that, UFC reneged on the promise of a rematch and made him fight 2 contender fights which he won both convincingly.

you can't be serious. if it's a troll i've had a few beers because i've scooped the bait right up.

yes, chael dominated the first AS fight. then he got choked out and lost.

stann was a good win, but he barely squeaked by bisping.

he got absolutely destroyed in the second fight. crushed. if cheated is a reference to drugs, chael has been busted several times. TRT? cmon.

chael is probably the best example of a mediocre fighter who somehow became this engine of destruction in his 30s. guy was absolutely juiced to the gills.

he went on to show his quitter's heart against jones and rashad then retired disgracefully.

Destroyed? That's just factually incorrect. He started the second fight exactly how he finished the first, took Silva to ground and dominated. 10 - 8 on the judges cards. Then in the second Silva started bringing out the shorts pulling, the fence grabbing, and the knee/thigh to the head of a downed opponent. Yes he stopped a few takedown attempts, but let's not forget he also grabbed the Vaseline the meds applied to his face and wiped it all over his hips and torso before the fight as well.

Chael should never have done that stupid spinning back elbow, but after being grabbed and illegally restrained while Anderson punched him in the face for 20 seconds perhaps he wasn't thinking straight.

which part of the strike was illegal? the part where the knee hit him square in the chest or..?

i don't see a fence grab in those gifs but... it happens every other fight. most of the time you need to do it at least twice to even get an official warning, much less lose a point

He grabbed the fence to balance himself when throwing the knee, and the upper leg connected to Chael's jaw when he threw the knee. The knee may of hit the chest but it still illegally connected to his face.

I guess the 20 seconds of short pulling is pretty obvious.
