even the way he ****s up and falls over makes it look like a schoolyard fight actually

tbh a bunch of dickheads fighting on world star hip hop is more entertaining than fighting sports
Precisely my problem with this sport. At least in boxing they try to keep some sort of form. This is all flailing limbs and hitting people when they're unconscious. I could see that on Hindley Street any given Saturday night.

Knees to the solar plexus should be banned anyway, can trigger a heart attack.
I hear having the living snot beat out of ya is pretty bad for your health.

Boxing is far more barbaric than MMA, the fact they wrap their hands in 20 ounce pillows so they can punch each other hundreds of times without knockouts and superficial damage results in way worse head trauma then the 8 ounce UFC gloves, or worse, when they don't even hit each other in the face and and spend the whole time wrestling and doing submissions.

Participated in the amateur level of both and I can tell you which one was worse for my health.

Ironically football ended up worse for me then any of them.

Loves Acca Dacca.

You really are edgie...

I fail to see how kneeing or punching someone in the head, while they're KO'd on the ground and their toes are curling up is a better result for brain injuries than boxing.

Knee strikes to the head of a grounded opponent are against the rules. As are all strikes to a KO'd opponent, obviously.

The idea is the ref stops it when they're KO'd and til then the fighters play to the ref's calls.

You don't feel the damage in boxing til after the fight. You can go 10 rounds boxing and sustain more trauma not being knocked out than a couple in MMA and be knocked out with a knee and receive a couple for the road while you're down.

To reiterate as well, the objective is not solely to punch the other dude in the head til they can't punch back. You can win by other methods.

What a ******* dreadful and malicious sport. Honestly.
I came out of the train station a few weeks ago to see two yobs punching on in the broad daylight of a Sunday afternoon. Good craic. Why is it so much more entertaining when they're fat?

Unless you're A. Silva.

If you're talking about the above, that wasn't to the head. Although it sure as hell looked it at first watching the fight live, I'll give you that.

Really? I'll admit I'm not an enthusiast of the sport. I'll watch it with mates if there's an interesting title fight, but I was watching one of the 'Ultimate Knockouts' DVDs and this happened repeatedly - guy gets knocked out, is laying on his back with arms in the air unable to defend himself at all, other guy runs over and gets one or two more hits in just to be sure. Happened more often than not and really put me off.

I'm not anti UFC, I'm just saying that debating that it's not that bad for the old noggin is splitting hairs.

That's a sport as well.

Literally, the worse fight ever.

Some refs are notorious for being late stoppers. There have been some fights where the winner is just gently tapping the face of a KO'd opponent looking at the ref waiting for them to call it while they're busy trying to remember if they closed the curtains before they left.

I'm one of the most non violent people you could ever meet when out and about. I've never lost a fight by less than 50 metres. I just enjoy sports of a particular nature and have enjoyed competing in them in the past.
