There's just far less room for naff trends like in the 80s. Not that there isn't plenty of distinct looking metal bands now, at least to the "wears different pants" degree you qualified your post with. How many newer metal bands do you listen to? I just picture 80s rock best of CDs getting 100% of the play time at edgie manor.

No Heep?

That's not at all accurate.

The 70s and 90s get fair rotation as well as far as metal goes.

I like my metal of a particular style and that style is out of vogue currently, since The Crusade by Trivium. I no longer call myself a metalhead.

In the 90s I think metal bands began to start fitting standards and cliches with their image, which is why I didn't name drop Pantera or anything like that. I guess when it was first starting up in the 80s, there was no predefined stereotypical image, and that makes that period of heavy metal music excited, because, in way, bands expressed themselves more freely in everything they did, including the music.

No Alice Cooper or Rainbow either?

What a waste of money..:drunk:
Reminds me of this mockup someone made
Oo82lsf.png

But hey it will look pretty

I mean it's my hobby. Just like people blow ridiculous amounts of money on their cars.

Or booze drugs and women.

Not me, just sayin.

I like how Iggy Azalea has had so much plastic surgery that she has entered "wayans brothers in white chicks" mode.

A true abomination.

After the Sound Unlimited Posse back in the 90s, the idea of Australians doing hip hop was cringeworthy. Its gotten almost bearable to hear over the last 10 years, but jesus as soon as you hear Iggy Azalea, all of that is completely undone.

Spreaking of nbn

Our internet provider called to say, "NBN will be available in your area very soon, would you like to switch?"

Me: Yes please if it doesn't cost any extra

"oh no it doesn't. Let me just look up your current plan..."

Turns out for the same plan we are on (unlimited data) to get to 12.5Mbps NBN will be $10/month more than what we pay now.

$20 more for 25Mbps.

Last speed test I did gave me about 14Mbps download (way less for upload admittedly)

Me: So what you're telling me is it will cost $10 extra to get around the same speed I get now?

Him: no but because it's NBN, so it is more stable...

Me: but you'll be limiting me to a similar speed that I'm on now with ADSL?

Him:...

Me: and $20 extra for a noticeable speed difference?

Him: ...

Him: Ah, maybe talk to your wife, and get back to us?

Get up! Get down! Kickin' it to the undersound!

Those arseclowns. They supported PE & Ice-T on the '91 tour. Not even T-Na flashing her **** could get the crowd into their set. Except when someone yelled out "Keep your clothes on, bitch!"

Once the laughter died down, she tried to pick a fight with that "mother f@%ker." IIRC, that's when the call to "get the f@%k off" the stage got its loudest. Cheers when they finally did, tho.

Good gig. Ice-T upstaged PE. Mate's mate got too close to Flava. So the S1Ws threw him head-first into the security barriers, splitting his face wide open. As the claret flowed, Flava came to his defence. So it was worth the headache for him.

Then everyone racked the shit outta the BP across the road.

Last I heard from Rosano Martinez & co. was them fleeing a gig down south (Flinders maybe?) after some local hipper-to-the-hoppers rushed the stage.

Mind you, "Peace by Piece" isn't a bad track.

But yeah, can't put Iggy on Oz hip-hop...

Any australian artist who sings with an american accent should be shackled & sent to Van Diemen's Land.

I'll be switching over to NBN very soon, it's been available in my area for almost a year now but I've been holding off because I wanted to make sure that indoor modem goes where I want it to go which has required some work to the house. We'll most likely be going with the TPG unlimited 100Mbps plan which is about $99/month and about $40/month more than I'm currently paying for TPG unlimited on ADSL2+.
