I'm pretty sure its a 100% perfect example of how 3 major Australian sporting bodies/codes have determined that green and gold is basically shit, much like how Hawthorn do the same thing with blue because brown and gold are literally shit.

AFL =/= international rules. That soccer strip was a second kit, the main one is gold and green.

The actual Olympic uniforms are green and gold. That obsidian blue is very much tertiary to our look in international sports.

How can you possibly claim that we "keep using blue"?

Green and gold looks amazing. They are widely recognised as our national colours. Blue gets used ONLY when green and gold isn't suitable for whatever reason.

This socceroos kit is the right shade. I totally agree that not every Australian sport gets that shading right, but when done right it's one of the better colour combinations in sports.

Something like what Dylan posted just above, maybe with the commonwealth star included, bridges the old and the new pretty well.

Soccer teams use whatever a dog throws up in the morning as their alternative strips, International Rules is not a major code, and the olympics opening ceremony getup barely constitutes a uniform.
