Anders Breivik committed the most horrendous mass murder in memory, for a specific cause, and the media fell over themselves at the time to avoid labelling him a terrorist until public opinion pushed them to do so.

If you're Muslim, you're infinitely more likely to be labelled a terrorist at the drop of a hat.

And he killed his own people to stop the rise of Islam in his country.

Confused much Anders?

But he was labelled a terrorist... In fact I thought it was labelled as a terrorist act pretty quickly. Could be remembering wrong.

I still don't believe it's possible for Trump to become the POTUS. Even if he gets the Republican nomination he would surely lose in a landslide? ... right guys?....right?

He's got as much chance of becoming POTUS as a fish and chip shop owner from Ipswich QLD has got of being elected to Australia's Federal Parliament.

People called them a terrorist acts, then when they realised a white dude had committed them he was referred to as a "right wing extremist" for a while before they reverted back to terrorist when public opinion pushed them to do so.

The language was definitely enormously different to what it would have been if he were Muslim. The long articles about his motivations and upbringing and how he could become such a monster were totally different from what we get when ISIS is responsible for an atrocity, and it's always the same when it's a white, non-muslim terrorist.

It's looking like Hilary is the frontrunner, but things aren't that clear. Don't forget, it's not compulsory voting in the US, so a sensible candidate can be trumped (pun intended) by a large mob of fanatics.

Trump is mobilising voters based on their current anger and frustration with the current state of the US. The recent terror attacks in Brussels will only mobilise more voters to his cause.

Events like the Brussels bombing at election time usually favour the incumbent but in the case of the US Presidential Election there is no incumbent this time. I agree though that Trump's rhetoric on this is more likely to attract votes than Clinton's more measured approach.

BTW, the fish and chip shop owner from Ipswich got elected. ;)

Nelson Mandela was considered a terrorist by some.

He was also considered to be a campaigner by some. QED.

I read an interesting point on Clinton v Sanders, which is that the results so far are distorted by the fact that all `Southern' states have had their primaries, meaning every other state yet to vote is more likely to vote Sanders

The approach of the pointy end of the primaries affects things with Trump v the remaining Republican field as well. The party delegates in the remaining states for both sides are significantly pressured to go less for the candidate they might prefer in lieu of one who might win. Everything I read makes it seem Sanders would not be electable. But then was a black man 8 years ago?

And those are Republican states too, mostly? God, Bernie becoming pres would be so based.

Doesn't matter, Democrats don't do a winner takes all for their votes. Clinton has so much of a lead that Sanders would have to absolutely obliterate Clinton in the polls (which won't happen) to win.

I don't know what the point of voting for Clinton is. This could be a real turning point in world politics and people want to resume with the most mundane establishment candidate who largely serves corporate interests. If I was American I'd actually have a hard time choosing Clinton or Trump.

Doesn't matter, Democrats don't do a winner takes all for their votes ....
Is that true right across the US? The Republicans gift their votes via a whole lot of models over the various states and territories.

Ah Titus!

A highly unhelpful guide to round 1
"... Alan Richardson had the Saints moving in the right direction. They were developing the kids, competing week-in-week-out, and dwarf burnings were at historic lows ..."

Im not sure why everyone seems to be anti Trump... I can't wait for Trump to be president of the 'free world'. I have my money saved up, and when he becomes president, Im gonna move to a little remote island somewhere, live there and watch the comedy act that will follow and hope to god that once Trumps stint is up, I have a home to move back too, but if not, at least I can live my life out on the island drinking island rum with the island girls :)

Muslims are not always branded as terrorists. The Mujahideen were freedom fighters when fighting the Russians in Afghanistan.
