I'm a HUGE fan. He made 'Taxi' briefly palatable. He had a chemistry with Michael Douglas that made the 'Romancing the Stone' films cool, and that melded into 'War of the Roses'. He and Bette Midler were soooooo good in 'Ruthless People'. Who else could have played his role in 'Get Shorty'. And 'Always Sunny In Philadelphia' is one of the great ensemble comedies. I'm aware there's other stuff he's done but that's the good stuff. And he's married to Gilda Radner, jeez that would be one exhausting couple to have over to dinner.

Plus he tried to get momma thrown off the train

There's an English guy on a LFC forum I'm in saying that he's starting to follow the AFL more closely this year. He doesn't have a team yet so I'm trying hard to bring him to the PAFC side of the force. He said "you're pushing them hard so I feel obliged to give them a go". He's recording the Showdown to watch it later so a win would surely help!

Tell him that Darren Burgess, who used to be their fitness guy, now works with us. (He was also working with us when we won the 2004 premiership)

Why haven't I heard more Missy Elliot songs?

Yeah, she is pretty ****ing amazing.

I think she is too real, if that's even possible in this day and age, and therefore a bit too confronting.

I can't think of another reason more people aren't aware of her brilliance.

This gem from a customer over yonder.

"There aren't a lot of teams who can say that all 22 players are AFL quality."

I guess he means that the AFC is one of few clubs that has 22 players of AFL quality.
Most of them at other clubs.

Not sure what to think of the new Uncle Al song.

A great article about the rise of Leicester City including some reddit post by one of their fans that went viral. Inspirational shit.

Nottingham Forest winning the title in 1977-78 in their first season after promotion would be a similar shock.

But I reckon the biggest shock ever might have been Ipswich Town winning the title in 1961-62. Not only was it their first season after promotion, it was in fact their first season ever in the top flight.

They are the only team to ever win the title at the first attempt and that's a record that will probably never be equalled.

The obvious thing with Ipswich and Forest back then is, the English game wasn't nearly as scientific, cash-soaked and global. Players were still primarily British, with that relatively limited talent spread over the 22 teams in the division. Blips and surprises, while still exactly that, weren't beyond the realms of probability.

In today's day and age, over 38 games, a club like Leicester shouldn't be anywhere near the rarified atmosphere in which they currently reside, let alone 5 points clear in the home straight.

Utterly extraordinary.

I know people give shit to FIFA, NBA, NFL games coming out every year and barely updating.

But I wish the AFL was doing more to try and start up a video game franchise similar to these with EA, Ubisoft or Activision.

We've had a couple of efforts the more recent AFL LIVE games but they weren't the best made games.

Young people 10-30 generally have grown up around and playing video games if the AFL wants to try and draw in more young supporters I'd say it'd be worth a try to Co fund a new title and franchise with a major publisher.

It's something Mr Bungle would have done (better?) 20 years ago. I like old Al, Lard is ******* cool, so he can do whatever he likes.
Not sure if I like this yet.
Al is still a musical genius in my opinion. The fact he's made a very successful lifelong career from going against the grain and doing whatever the hell he wants to do deserves respect. I also like that he's somehow still alive.

Agree on this, didn't mean any disrespect to Al. He's been a constant and I respect all his work.
Glad he's alive and still putting art out.

Its just not worth it from a numbers perspective.
To really make a solid game these days you need a good million bucks and there's only 20 odd million people in the country.

A million a season for a game that the maximum amount of people are going to play based off of total club membership (around 650k) doesn't add up.

Its a bloody shame.

Yes, but the difference between the haves and have nots was nowhere near as pronounced then.

Been visiting a family member in hospital all week. Today, this lil' bastard - all of nine or ten - was giving it to everyone and anyone on their way inside.

After the African couple, Indian dude, fat ginger slurping an ice-cream on his BMX and the Dad pushing his baby son in a pram, I knew I was gonna cop a mouthful:

"You're f@%ked! I'm gonna f@%k you up! You stole my f@%king money! F@%king black campaigner!"

WTF? Never been called that before... mainly coz I'm Irish white. Later, the same lil' bastard gave it to me on the way home:

"You just come from the Lyell Mac?"
"Yeah," I said. "Just visiting."
"Ever been up to the helipad?"
"Nah, that's too high for me."
"What? F@%k that. Me and mate climbed up there. Get up there, ya f@%kin' f@ggot!"
