Been visiting a family member in hospital all week. Today, this lil' bastard - all of nine or ten - was giving it to everyone and anyone on their way inside.

After the African couple, Indian dude, fat ginger slurping an ice-cream on his BMX and the Dad pushing his baby son in a pram, I knew I was gonna cop a mouthful:

"You're f@%ked! I'm gonna f@%k you up! You stole my f@%king money! F@%king black campaigner!"

WTF? Never been called that before... mainly coz I'm Irish white. Later, the same lil' bastard gave it to me on the way home:

"You just come from the Lyell Mac?"
"Yeah," I said. "Just visiting."
"Ever been up to the helipad?"
"Nah, that's too high for me."
"What? F@%k that. Me and mate climbed up there. Get up there, ya f@%kin' f@ggot!"

I know people give shit to FIFA, NBA, NFL games coming out every year and barely updating.

But I wish the AFL was doing more to try and start up a video game franchise similar to these with EA, Ubisoft or Activision.

We've had a couple of efforts the more recent AFL LIVE games but they weren't the best made games.

Young people 10-30 generally have grown up around and playing video games if the AFL wants to try and draw in more young supporters I'd say it'd be worth a try to Co fund a new title and franchise with a major publisher.

Its just not worth it from a numbers perspective.
To really make a solid game these days you need a good million bucks and there's only 20 odd million people in the country.

A million a season for a game that the maximum amount of people are going to play based off of total club membership (around 650k) doesn't add up.

Its a bloody shame.

It's also far too dynamic a game. Could you imagine creating it? It isn't a walk in the park like the FIFA (kick ball foot), NBA (throw ball hand), MADDEN (pass ball hand run ball feet tackle), or Boxing/UFC games (punch kick armbar). It is the most dynamic sport in the world and would take a mountain of work to build from the game up.

We got some relatively decent AFL games in the late 90s to mid 00s and given the technological limitations of the time compared to now, I reckon that's as good as we will ever have. No current AFL game would ever stack up to the big sporting franchises.

Gee whiz I don't understand mining. My old man was put off in 1988 and wasn't able to find work locally ever again. Meanwhile, a few blokes I umpire with are part of a group of 120 who got retrenched, and they literally drove across the road to get a job on that mine and they start this week, and I know for a fact this mine in also in a bit of trouble. My dad's current workplace, a mine in Cobar, put off 40 people last week but also hired 30 on the down-low. I don't get it.

so i got a free gear vr because i pre-ordered the samsung s7 (was near the end of my contract.. was a free upgrade, i'm not normally an early tech adopter). anyway just got around to giving it a go and it's pretty damn cool.

so naturally my first thought was... pr0n

any suggestions? (can be things other than pr0n)
the aurora borealis vid thing that is on there is bloody good. plus i like the photos. gonna try taking some photos to test it out soon. just makes it so much more immersive
