PS, the Nickelback playing drums for Steel Panther while Pantera sings Van Halen video I just posted featured some Iron Maiden.

That appears to be Vinnie Paul from Pantera playing drums and the chud from Nickelback singing?

Maiden tickets are now $65 for the cheap seats. I'm giving that some strong consideration. They're really one of the few bands that I want to hear a 'greatest hits' type set list from, though.

I'm still pissed when I seen Maiden on The Final Frontier tour, they did like 3 songs from Dance of Death and none from A Matter of Life and Death. DoD is a dreadfully overrated album amongst the Maiden faithful. I understand doing new songs, but not songs from a mediocre album that was 3 releases ago.

And they weren't even ****ing Rainmaker!



I just wanted to hear the amazingly Bon Jovi-esque Different World

Yeah I saw them at Soundwave, it was average. The 'Somewhere Back in Time' tour from a couple of years before would've been perfect to see, but they didn't stop in Adelaide then.

Luckily I saw them in Sydney so when I came to Adelaide for Soundwave I didn't bother as I'd heard the show was exactly the same for the whole tour.

I can't remember if I saw The Chariot or ****ed Up instead that time but whichever it was it was infinitely better than Iron Maiden on that tour.

I actually watched The Melvins for the first half of Maiden's set. Couldn't be happier with that decision.

Understandable, I criticised the set list as well, but you can't fault the performance of the band at all.

It would be nice if they maybe focused a few more songs under 6 minutes long though these days. It is close to jump the shark territory to them.

Admittedly I stepped off maiden after somewhere in time though.

I must have seen at least some of the Melvins then....

Gotta stop getting so ****ed up at gigs. I went to the BDO at Adelaide Uni in '93 and every festival I have been to since just sort of gels into one...

I saw The Melvins and Helmet in Sydney a while back.

It doesn't seem that bad sometimes when you are there & sheer volume etc. covers it a bit... the guy is old & the lifestyle he had kudos that he can still get up there.. Iommi is a king, you still won on the night

Don't agree with them being wound up though. If they enjoy playing and people still want to see them live who cares, play on, if it's about the money, all bands are..some are just better at it...
They should have got Taylor swift...
